Northern Light Technologies Luxor Mini 10,000 Lux-Light Therapy Desk Lamp, White

Great little light. Works as advertised. I use the 10,000 lux desk lamp at the library frequently but this one is just as good for light therapy, except it doesn't function as a desk lamp. It's very compact and suitable for a laptop table, even. I have very little space in my room and this works really well. It is bright! Some people think these lamps are too bright but your eyes will adjust, especially if you've been lacking sunlight, it may take some time. Just increase your use gradually and your eyes will adjust.

I can't stress how awesome this light is. It's amazing how much light can emit from this thing, and it makes a huge difference. It's like I have the sun shining in my room all day long, and it makes me feel great. I bought the entire suite of lights and have them positioned throughout my home. This one is really nice next on my desk.

- This lamp emits a warmer light than some of the other light therapy lamps I've used - I felt a noticeable & immediate difference in mood after using it (it helps regulate & lift my mood) - Not only that - it doubles as a sleek, beautiful piece of artwork/decor - The only downside, is that it's a bit larger in real life - so it takes up quite a bit of shelf space (especially if you live in a smaller apartment)

So first things first, I’ve never previously owned a light box even while I live in a place that doesn’t have much sunshine during the winter time (AKA currently) so take my review with a tiny grain of salt knowing this. Upon buying this product, I did experience a greater amount of energy in the morning. I typically sit about a foot and a half away from the light (I know the description mentions/recommends sitting within a foot of the light, but seriously, for someone who has never seen a UV bulb before, it is VERY bright, I don’t want it any closer to my face). The instructions were non existent and in another language, but was pretty intuitive. I have used it at other times during the day as well, to try and give myself a mood boost (which often works), but never at night since it seems to disrupt sleep cycles. The metal around the bulb gets warm pretty fast, but never to the point that I haven’t been able to turn the devise off, but I do believe that if it were left on for a long duration of time it may become a fire hazard. All in all, I cannot say anything unusual has happened with the product or anything was broken upon arrival.
