Why don't more 60-something-year-olds get to have fun magical adventures? Delia Spark is caught in a maelstrom. Her former life as a London theatre director is on the brink of implosion amid a scandalous divorce, a tarnished reputation, and, for reasons she cannot fathom, things keep spontaneously combusting around her. Her sixties were supposed to be peaceful, but now even her grown daughter won't return her calls. Escape is the only option. In the remote village of Myrtlewood, she seeks solace, not suspecting that in this quaint haven, far stranger adventures await than the urban chaos she left behind. Delia is oblivious to the undercurrent that her arrival stirs. Amid whispers of magic, she finds herself on the precipice of an extraordinary transformation. As she grapples with these new realities, an ominous shadow lurks - a secret Order, steeped in ancient lore, is watching, plotting and scheming. Delia must confront her destiny. Will she surrender to the enchanting pull of Myrtlewood and the ancient prophecies of the elemental crones, or will she claw back her former life from her power-hungry ex? Welcome to a world where the extraordinary is ordinary, where tranquillity is a veil for the mystical, and where time itself whispers secrets of old served with delicious cakes and cups of tea โ or coffee if you insist! Review: Great new series! - This is a wonderful new series set in Iris' world. Yes, Myrtlewood is here, and we see some familiar faces! Yay! This book has multiple points of view, and they flow seamlessly together. There are several mysteries hinted at, and it leaves you craving the next book. You also get some hints of the wider world, and as usual, the descriptions of some of the food will leave you hungry. I would love a Guinness stew, oh yes. Iris has written a wonderful new book in this one and the characters are very memorable. Well worth the read and I for one, can not wait for the next. 5 Stars for sure, highly recommended! Review: Absolutely delightful - This is a refreshing take on the world of magic. The main characters are older, one just coming into her magic in her 60s. The writing is crisp and entertaining, the plot well developed, and the world interesting. I am looking forward to the next book.

Fun quick read
Overall this was enjoyable read but the writing felt a bitโฆ immature. The characters and plot felt like they were quickly written for a term paper that had to be handed in on short notice.

Very Fun Series
This book is so fun! As a woman of a certain age, or should I say Crone status, I found it endearing and just right that these women were vibrant, independent and knew their own minds. Their wants, needs, and desires. Add magic to the mix and a distinct lack of men or young children to get in their way, and its a marvelous adventure!

Cute and entertaining
I finished it the book seemed a bit anticlimactic with the ending. The crones were funny and endearing. Iโm not sure Iโll keep reading the series but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Fantastic, comforting, addictive.
Having read and loved all the Myrtlewood Mysteries so far (hope there will be more soon!). I did not want to leave the wonderful, magical Cornish village of Myrtlewood so was delighted to be able to follow some more of the occupant's magical adventures, I was not disappointed this book was truly wonderful. As a resident of a small Cornish village and the wrong side of 50 it is a delight to have the main characters to be in the third stage of life with the power and wisdom of the crone, it seems that there is hope for me yet! All the Myrtlewood books have given me comfort, joy and inspiration. Thank you. Oh! So what I am saying is if you want a joyous read this is for you.
