Actually works
I’m hoping the glue stays because this product is amazing. I installed it at my sliding glass door which needs replacing and has quite a draft. I was looking for something to use for the winter until we can replace the door. This weatherstripping is so fantastic I may just keep the door. It was a little hard to peel off the backing, but as soon as it was done - wow. NO draft. I cut it in 24 inch sections to install so it would be straight. Today it is 19 degrees Fahrenheit and I think I installed this just in time!

Adhesive is the worst part.
⭐☆☆☆☆ 1 out of 5 stars Poor adhesive design makes this weatherstripping unusable I really wanted this product to work, but unfortunately the design completely defeats the purpose of what it’s supposed to do. This is a door/window weatherstripping with a peel-and-stick adhesive backing. On paper, it looks fine, and with over 2,500 reviews averaging around 3–3.5 stars, I figured the price-to-quality tradeoff would be acceptable. That was my mistake. I should have sorted the reviews by most recent, because the newer complaints are spot on. The main problem is the adhesive backing and the white peel strip. The white strip that you’re supposed to remove to expose the sticky surface is bonded so aggressively to the adhesive that when you try to peel it away, the entire adhesive layer comes off with it. Instead of exposing a sticky surface, you’re left with bare weatherstripping that will not adhere to anything. I tried: • Peeling it slowly • Pulling at different angles • Using fingernails and a razor to separate it • Applying more force None of it worked. The adhesive consistently separates from the weatherstripping and sticks to the white backing instead. Once that happens, the product is permanently ruined—there’s no adhesive left, so it can’t be installed at all. This isn’t user error or surface prep. This is a manufacturing or design flaw. The adhesive either isn’t properly bonded to the weatherstripping, or it’s bonded more strongly to the release liner than to the product itself. Either way, it defeats the entire purpose of peel-and-stick weatherstripping. I understand this is an inexpensive product and likely mass-produced overseas. I don’t expect perfection. But I do expect the basic function—sticking to a surface—to work. In this case, it doesn’t. Bottom line: if the adhesive backing fails during installation, the product is unusable. Based on my experience and the recent reviews, this appears to be a common issue, not an isolated defect. I would not recommend this product unless the adhesive backing process is redesigned.

Removing the strip during warm weather makes it easy!
This review is to share something I just discovered myself. I tried to remove the strip in the spring, and it was very difficult—it kept pulling off the paint. That’s why I only removed a few and decided not to deal with the rest. Yesterday, it was about 90 degrees outside, and for some reason, I decided to try again. This time, the strip came off perfectly—like a hot knife through butter! If you don’t want to wait for hot weather, try using a hairdryer to heat the glued area. It should work just as well.

Miraculous
I live in a 100+ year old home with very outdated windows and bad insulation, so it gets very hot in the summer and very cold in the winter. And, of course, my bedroom faces a busy street which is downwind from a biker bar, so I hear them all drive home at 2am on the weekends, which doesn't do my insomnia any favors. I've tried other types of window insulation but nothing ever worked, so i resorted to ducttaping my windows shut with a layer of bubble wrap inside. It helped, but looked awful and I could not open my windows for emergencies or nice days. I just installed this weather stripping and i want to cry (in a good way). I bought it so that my bedroom would stay cooler this summer, but the instant silence is why I immediately had to come write a review. I cannot emphasize how much of a relief it brings. I feel like I finally have some privacy and comfort. I can still hear the outside world, but it's so much quieter. I'll update in a couple months once we've had some more hot days and say whether or not it did it's job of sealing the window well. My only small complaint is that it doesn't come in white, but if it's gonna work this well then who cares! Note: Installation was simple, I cut it to size and heated the glue on the strips with a hair drier as recommended and it seems extremely sturdy.

VERY Strong Adhesive
Worked pretty well for what I got it for (to block sound from outside. I would say it blocks about 25-50% of sound). However, the adhesive is very strong and it was really hard to get the adhesive cover strips off to apply the strips to the window. They probably need to use something else to cover the adhesive with in the future.

Don’t buy it
It works ok for the 2 windows that had a lot of air coming thru but very cheap, would not buy again and not much there, should have gone to a local store.

My house I am renting. Vancouver b.c. 1700 3 bedroom huge back yard pre covid prices 4 now. Soon to be 3k for this dump. Every door frame has a huge gap. Twisted house, so nothing even. I started singing this 70% cut sound, do both sides j sweat could probably reach 85/90%. Started renting out bedrooms so added to mine. Amazing. Did about a 85% of door on one side with 2 orders... so ot would take 3 orders to complete one side or 5 for double side of door. Even try war movies and 80% of one side made it hard to hear in other bedrooms. I also got the 2 for one door steip off amazon. Works amazing even for re-sticking because of mess ups. In the future if it comes loos il add screws or silicon for extra durability. For now it seams too hold and is worth the money. Buy lots you wonder regret it, seriously.
