Gets the job done.
Bought this for my daughter for Christmas. She has siblings who get into her personal stuff so we wanted something she could feel like her things were private and safe. Had difficulty with the finger print reader. My husband was able to take ot apart and fiddle with it to get it to work and it’s fine now. Not the best quality but gets the job done. Come with a key as well you n the even the batter dies, or if I would like to open it. Worth the price I paid.

Missing key
I didn’t receive a back up key in my package. Have to have it to set the code so not very functional at this point.

Guess it depends on what you want to keep safe
When I saw this safe, I wanted to try it. I don't have really important things I need to keep locked up, but liked the idea of having this. (I don't know why.)First, the instructions tell you that you'll need 4 AA (double A) batteries. That's wrong. You need 4 AAA (triple A) batteries. Second, the setting of the password instructions aren't clear if you only want to have one password for the safe. (It gives you the option of a second password, but I can't imagine why you'd need that.) Once you set the password, it doesn't want to accept the password to lock it. What the instructions don't tell you is that once you've set the password, simply close the door and turn the knob so that it locks. Then it will require your password to open it. Once I had it all set up, I was carrying it to where I plan to keep it and it kept beeping at me. I wasn't leaning against the front panel so I don't know why it was doing that. It has stopped beeping, but I still don't know why it did. Now, let's talk about how practical (or not) this safe is. It is small and could be carried by pretty much anyone except a small child. If you are robbing a home and come across the safe, it would be no problem at all to scoop the safe up and take it with you and then figure out how to open it later. So in that regard, it is a bit of a head scratcher. Every other safe I've ever seen is so heavy or large that it couldn't be taken out of the home by a thief. That leads me to believe that the only thing someone might want to store in this safe is a gun to keep it away from children. But gun safes have features that this one doesn't (humidity control, for one). There is a nice thick foam pad inside the safe when you open it. Not sure what you'd be storing that needs to have that, but it is nice that they include it. It also came with four triangles that I'm assuming (because the instruction manual definitely did NOT mention them) are to stick to the bottom of the safe to keep it from scratching the surface you store it on. It also came with two heavy-duty screws but didn't show any mounting instructions and it is not obvious by looking at the safe how you'd even use the screws. And while this is light enough to carry off, I definitely wouldn't want to install this to a wall, even if I was able to put it into two studs. (Which, by the way, you wouldn't be able to do because the unit isn't wide enough to span the traditional spacing between wall studs.) Another thing not addressed in the instructions is how to access the battery panel/emergency keyhole. This is the black panel to the right of the keypad. But it doesn't show you how to open it and I'm always wary in those situations that I'm going to break it while trying to open it. Eventually, I was able to access the area behind the black panel by using a fingernail to lift the far end of it. The whole instruction manual could use an upgrade to include more information. That's why I've only given this four stars.

Safe? Is it really?
Where to begin?! Instructions from the "user manual" you receive are not of the model of safe you order. It states in the manual that requires AA batteries when reality they're AAA. Slide panel off? No. It does not slide. It has to be pried out with something (screwdriver or similar). Batteries keep popping out of the panel as you try to get it back in. When opened, you have to program your finger and key. Well, programming the finger took me over 6 hours to get it to work. As of today, it still gives me trouble to use my finger. So I have to keep re-programming it with other fingers. Same result. Even after you think you get it to work and hear the "successful" chime, the door will not always open. The NFC key, (I have been trying since I got it) still no luck. Oftentimes, I have to get the keys to get it open. (Aggravating!). The door looked sturdy and thick. The walls around? Plain metal thin. If you poke hard enough with a screwdriver, you will get easy access. No holes on the bottom as the description states. So right there, there are several issues with this unit. If what you look for is to keep things away from prying eyes and out of reach of children, then is an Ok safe. There's an email in the manual for aftersales support, but then again, I have had this unit for a bit over 2 weeks and my email is still unanswered. Beware!

Keeps thieves out
If you live with thriving, unemployed liars, this is for you! I lock my meds, money, rechargeable batteries and other small things in here. I still have my stuff! She can't steal it! This is great! If I would have gotten this before, I'd still have $15,000.

For the money its a great option
Depending on your goals its great, if you want to keep stuff out of the reach of kids its amazing, just read the manual and check the battery compartment for the exact type of batterys, some reports say the manual says its AA buts its AAA, check in before buying the batteries, other than that, its stylish and really well built

DOES NOT WORK
I received this safe because I wanted a biometric safe. The seller has included a gmail address for after sales service. To date my email remains unanswered and unless I receive some help this item will be returned as it does not recognise fingerprints. The sound recognising the fingerprint works (chime) but it will not open. I have to force the safe open by removing the batteries and unlocking with the failsafe key each time. HOPELESS
