TRICKERY ALL AROUND
This was a great read. I found myself getting angry, along with Louise and angry at Daniel. I felt like I was right there, in the middle of the intension, between Louise and Abby. Abby was a real character…Full of lies and ways to make Louise suffer. Louise needed a real backbone, when dealing with Abby.PLOT: Louise and her husband (Daniel), have a good home life. He’s a doctor and she’s a stay at home mom (to their daughter: Mia). Daniel’s sister (Abby) is due to be released from prison and he’s excited. Louise doesn’t know what to think of it, being that Abby will be staying with them for an undetermined time, while she gets back onto her feet or acclimated back into society. While Abby stays with them, she makes sure to make life for Louise, as miserable as possible. She sincerely hates Louise. Daniel is stressed to the max. Because, he’s stuck in between two people that he loves. But he knows which one that he will choose, should push come to shove.Just about every day, Louise and Abby are bickering and then it’s Louise and Daniel bickering. What was once a peaceful house, is anything but. With Daniel having issued an ultimatum…Will it come to that?? And what is Abby’s endgame???

Story is really great... until you reflect on it
I would have given this book 5 stars if I had written this immediately after reading it. The book was written just them way I like them - tension that never lets up and giving me the desire to shake some characters to make them face reality. And I was happy to learn partway through the book that I was wrong in my thoughts about why Daniel was so trusting of everything Abby said over what Louise was saying. I had assumed we didn't really know the actual logistics of the car crash. But I woke up the next morning wondering why the Daniel chapters were talking about his thoughts... but they couldn't have been his actual thoughts, knowing what we knew by the end of the book. So really, those chapters were just there to keep the readers from knowing what was really going on, which, to me, is the equivalent of the bad guy being some random person who was casually mentioned on page 10 of the book and never heard from again until the end. Daniel was a doctor, so it seems to me that he had the money and resources to choose other options. And Abby??? I know the end justify the means, but I can't imagine choosing those means! So... if you have the ability to enjoy a book and then move on without giving it another thought, I think you will love this book. I liked it enough that I would probably read another book by this author, but if I again felt let down by my reflections, I wouldn't read any more after that.

Excellent
This is a very twisted story of how well do you know someone. From being in a happy marriage with their daughter, Louise learns & lives through a nightmare when her husband's sister is released from prison & comes to stay with them. A must read.

2.5 rounded up to 3
Excellent twist but the last 25% of the book felt forced in tying up loose ends and it seemed too neatly packaged.

quick read
Quick easy read. Didn’t really figure out the twist fully until it was revealed, wasn’t really a jaw dropping twist but I still really enjoyed the book! Would recommend for anyone just getting into thrillers!

Psychological is right!
I just can't believe how the book drew me in trying to figure out who was the bad guy or girl. I like the twists and turns and even though it got a little slow in a couple of spots, it wasn't enough to make me keep from reading to the end. This book is really a good example of a dysfunctional family and how you never know what goes on behind closed doors. If you like psychological thrillers, this one is for you!

good book
Although the books started out slow for me, it was worth the wait. A really interesting thriller with an unusual plot twist. Original.
