Small but seriously effective hand planer
I didn’t expect much from something this small, but it honestly exceeded my expectations. I used this little hand planer to trim a door molding so it would sit flush with the frame, and it handled the job way better than I thought it would. For tight spaces where a regular planer feels bulky or awkward, this thing is perfect. The build quality is solid — all metal construction with a clean orange finish, and the blade feels sharp right out of the box. The compact size actually works in its favor, giving you a lot of control for precise trimming. You can see from the photos that it’s well put together, and even after use, everything still feels tight and durable. That said, it’s definitely not for large jobs. If you’re planning to remove a lot of material, this isn’t the tool for that. It’s more of a precision tool for small adjustments, edges, and detail work.Overall, I’d recommend this to anyone doing finish carpentry, DIY touch-ups, or small fixes around the house. If you need something compact, accurate, and reliable for light work, this is a great little tool to have.

Incredible little plane
Out of the box this has been the best little hand plane I’ve come across. Super sharp, makes thin shavings, is lightweight but built heavy duty. Cuts through glue and hardwood effortlessly. The bottom was perfectly flat. It was incredibly easy to use as it was already dialed in right out of the box. It fits perfect in my hand that I can use my palm and a single finger to push it.I am by far no hand tool woodworker. I’ve been woodworking for almost a decade now but I mainly use power tools. I can just never seem to get any hand plane dialed in right. This was such a surprise and impressed me that right out of the box it cut perfectly. I honestly might buy a second one for when this one finally gets dull, as I don’t trust I’ll be able to sharpen and get it dialed back in as good as it is now lol.. 5 stars hands down, definitely recommend.

Super handy and useful!
This little planer is super handy and is amazing to use. It is perfect for taking off small hairline areas or for smoothing out a longer edge. The size is perfect for carrying in my toolkit. Comes super sharp! I had several old hand-me-down planers that I tried to use but often ended up butchering wood with. Not this planer. This planer is like a Ferrari compared to a Model T. So much better.

Solid & serious.
Yes, small, but Really solid & well built. This one has very good blade adjustment action. This is for the hobbiest & finish carpenter. Seriously tool.

A great little plane
This is exactly what I needed. A small plane that removes tiny amounts of wood. It seems easy to use, and has a great range of adjustments. The cast body feels very durable, and is quite stabil.

MUST HAVE
This is the CHEAPEST No. 101 Block Plane that you will find(outside of something 2nd hand MAYBE and even then). The blade is sharp out the box and with a quick hone and 2nd bevel, slices wood like butter. Nice finish on the tool and a nice flat bottom. You need to know that this is NOT made to flatten boards or doing anything crazy really, this is made for small work, detailing, quick little adjustments, chamfers, etc. There ARE other sizes that Jorgensen also offers if you need something that works harder or if you need something for end grain.Dollar for dollar Jorgensen tools do something different, pretty good quality and USEFULNESS out of something thats like 1/5th the price of some.

Questionable quality at first, but warranty honored
Quick and easy to use for little jobs; I keep it in my apron pocket in the shop. The original unit I purchased had a pretty obvious casting defect in the main bed. It was in a surface that had subsequently been ground down, so it seems pretty clear the QC process either missed it or did not care. It probably wouldn't have affected use, but I do expect to get a new, non-defective unit.I contacted Jorgensen on December 18; they reached out a couple days later requesting an address for a warranty replacement. I was happy with the speed of response and no-hassle resolution. The replacement unit came directly from China, and was shipped out on January 7. I received confirmation that it had shipped about 2 weeks later, and received the replacement about a week after that. Total time to resolution was approximately 5 weeks, which is not ideal, but it was interrupted by Chinese New Year.

Surprisingly Capable Little Plane for Small Jobs
I bought the JORGENSEN 3.5" mini wood plane for light touch-up work around the house—mainly trimming door edges and cleaning up small woodworking projects—and it’s done a solid job so far.Right out of the box, it felt well-made and sturdier than I expected at this price point. The blade was fairly sharp and only needed minor adjustment to get it just right. Once tuned, it produced smooth shavings and left a clean finish on soft and medium woods. This is not a tool meant for heavy-duty planing, so if you’re expecting to flatten large boards or remove a ton of material, this isn’t it. But for tight spaces or detail work, it’s perfect. I especially liked the compact size—it fits in the palm of your hand and gives you great control for delicate jobs.A couple of small drawbacks: the blade adjustment mechanism could be a bit more refined, and it took a few tries to get the depth exactly where I wanted it. Also, the grip isn't the most comfortable for extended use, but that’s expected with mini tools like this.Overall, it’s a great little tool to keep in the toolbox for quick fixes and fine-tuning. I wouldn’t rely on it for big tasks, but for small projects, it’s more than earned its place on my bench.

kleiner Superhobel
