Sony FE 300mm F2.8 GM OSS

As a current owner of the Sony’s 600mm F4 lens, this 300 was not really on my radar for wildlife photography. Until I tried it. All the photos I have posted here are taken with the 300 AND with teleconverters. I was not surprised that the 1.4x would perform well but I was very surprised at how well it performs with the 2x on it…giving the user a 600mm f5.6 lens. I have been using it with my A1 camera body. The AF performance as well as the image quality are excellent. You’ll have a bit of a drop in overall image quality but it’ll take a very close look to even notice it. This lens will not replace my 600f4 but for portability and light weight, this is an excellent and versatile option for sports and wildlife photographers.
