Nearly perfect!
As per Foscam usual: Reset... Then connection to the network at the first attempt. Everything works as promised. The only gripe I've got this time is, that the USB power supply doesn't have a UK plug and that the cable is nowhere nearly as long as the one from the same camera I ordered in Germany a few weeks back. The price is about the same, though. So why the short cable?

Useless
It came with very short usb cable and US plug. No warning, no information. What is the point? I don't know if it works - I returned it

Very easy to setup and they work great! I already had the foscam app for my other cameras, so all I had to do was click the plus, scan the qr code, click next since my wifi info was prefilled, then hold my phone up to the camera to show it the qr code for the wifi. Easiest setup ever. I love the PTZ so I can look around and see where my dogs are. The resolution seems great. I don't think my eyes could even tell if it was improved. We added a sd card to ours and we do continuous record which works great. We never have issues with running out of storage with the 512GB card.

I bought this gem of a camera (Foscam R5) as an addition to four other Foscams I’ve been using for several years. The high quality of vision and features on the R5 (Micro SD slot/pan-tilting panoramic /two-way speaker/night vision/ remote alarm) makes me ask the question: “Why would anyone with a modem who leaves their house NOT want this camera for under $30.00? (I would buy this R5 Foscam just to watch myself as a reminder to keep on my diet! 😊) The installation should take less than two minutes. It’s very easy and you’re guided through each step. BEYOND exceptional customer service: A short synopsis… I ran into an issue that was MY fault, not Foscams’. I sent a series of five emails to customer service. Each email was personally answered within the hour by Mandy in customer service. (Note: I’m a night owl, so there is a time difference of about 13 hours ahead for CST.) Each email from Mandy was highly courteous, personable, explained every aspect of the R5 camera and the steps of installation. I finally noticed (through Mandy’s patience) I was entering my modem key incorrectly. Duh.) A great value, a wonderful camera and par excellence in customer service. One couldn’t ask for more. Note: Camera lens is tilted up to show Micro SD Slot and Reset button.

I had this camera for about two weeks, and it's been a great addition to my home security system. I wanted to add another camera to use as a pet cam to keep an eye on my cat while I'm out. The Foscam 5MP Wi-Fi Pet Cam was a great addition. It's very dependable, and the image is amazing! Clear during the day and at night. It's compact and the response rate to access it on my phone is immediate and faster than other competitor cams I've used in the past. The security camera is extremely easy to use and is a simple plug and play setup. Connect it to the Foscam app and you're good! I also found it very convenient on the multiple ways you can record live footage. You can use their cloud storage, a micro-SD card, record on your phone or download their pc application to set up as a DVR on your pc. I tried all four, and all are very dependable and clear. Another feature that I like is being able to pan/tilt and zoom the camera from my phone. This is very nice if you have to adjust your camera to focus on a particular event or animal. They also have AI detection when paired with their cloud storage which allows you to identify known/unknown people or objects. I also own an Echo show and it automatically integrated with my Show. All I have to say, Alexa, Show "Laundry Room" and it displays quickly. So overall, great security/pet camera, easy setup process and great video quality!! Very happy with this purchase!! Another great product from Foscam!

Addendum to review - Had a quick power outage and the camera won't boot back up. Returning and changing from 4 stars to 1. Original Review... Longtime Foscam user here (over a decade) and I've owned 15, with 11 hooked up right now (both indoor and outdoor, all wireless) to my Netgear Nighthawk. I have 5 hooked up outdoors and 6 indoors. Why so many indoor cams? My girlfriend is a caregiver to an older stroke victim with aphasia who tends to get into trouble whenever he thinks nobody is watching. So if something negative happens, we can access the cams and find out what happened, when and where. His area of expertise is throwing away clothes and other valuables in the trash, so we can go in behind him and pull everything back out. He has no idea his moves are watched, but it's out of necessity we do it. We've saved hundreds of dollars as he tends to throw away expensive things. His brain has been rewired like that due to the strokes, so it just comes with the territory. This camera was to replace my older Foscam in the kitchen that was starting to act up. I love the new compact size and weight, but setting it up was a little harder than it should have been. I couldn't get my phone to scan the bar code without more effort than it should have taken. I've done this many times before, so I quickly ruled out user error. But I finally got it to connect. It's a Foscam, so I had high expectations right off the bat and it didn't disappoint. The pan and tilt was very responsive even though it's 3 rooms away and the picture quality was good. I don't mind the auto-switch to night vision, but I do have one semi-substantial gripe. I cannot adjust the aspect ratio to take up the full screen on my monitor. There are black bars running down both the left and right sides of the video feed and no way to make them disappear. This is the first Foscam I've ever owned that didn't have that ability. It's not quite aggravating enough to return, but close. In fact, if I experience what some of the other reviewers here have reported on about losing connection and having to hard reset the unit, it will definitely be a deal breaker and I'll return it. Otherwise, I'm semi-happy with the purchase.

Overall, this camera is a solid camera for indoor projects. When I pointed the camera outside the window, I had issues with the camera picking up and focusing on the screen - likely due to the higher resolution of the camera. This is not a problem for me as this camera won't be pointed outside - I was just moving it around testing it and wanted to see how it would work pointing outside. Installation: Easy to install using the app or software for Windows. Setup with the app worked well with the QR code on the bottom of the camera scanning well and reading the QR code for WiFi setup from the phone screen. Usage: While this can be stand-alone using the app and the onboard MicroSD card, my application includes setup for Blue Iris. Installation on this went smoothly, even though I had to reset the camera and start again since you need to set the username/password of the camera to provide to Blue Iris when adding the camera. Features: Pan and tilt are nice features, but as mentioned in other reviews, this lacks the zoom feature. This is not a deal breaker for me as I have installed in a location where wider is better. PT features can be accessed without issue in the Blue Iris software. I have not yet configured the motion detection to differentiate between people and animals, but plan on doing that as I move forward. I do not use the mic/speaker feature for my project, but it's a nice overall feature to have included. Network: I have a mesh wireless network which supports both 2.4 and 5 GHz connections. My 2.4 GHz range is rather congested and, after a period of time, the camera will disconnect and have to be power cycled in order to re-establish the connection. I'm not certain whether it's the congestion or the wireless radio in the camera. I have other wireless PTZ cameras outdoors which never have an issue nor disconnect.
