Do I have to use this before I one of their darker hair dyes to cover whites?

It is recommended to use indigo (blackish) Henna mixed with your chosen shade to cover grey hairs but I personally didn't like it. It was too dark and less shiny for me. I use lemon juice with red henna and it permanently covers the grey, but the grey hairs are lighter and brighter, like a low lights/highlights effect. I really like the look of tonal hair instead of a block of colour, but I guess it would depend what percentage of your hair is grey, how the grey hairs are distributed over your head and which colour you are after and how vibrant you want the shade or not? You could always try it without the indigo mix first and then decide. The darker mix would go over the first Henna colour no problem.

Does the mixture have to stay in the fridge overnight? It says to just use while warm, after adding 90C water. Thank you

No, it doesn't have to. It's better if it stays somewhere warm overnight, for example next to the radiator (not too close), but you can use it straight away. If you don't use it all, you can put the rest of it to the freezer.

I never died my hair. Will they get a wee bit redish shade if I die them with this henna. My natyral hair color is dark brown

This is a herbal dye, not synthetic. Depending on how long you leave it on, I keep it on for 1.5-2 hours, this henna will provide an orange hue to white hair and some reddish on your natural brown hair. If you are looking for a less orange effect, I would suggest to use the brown (it’s available in two tones) or - like I do - mix the red and the brown. Also I make the paste by mixing the powder with tea or coffee (not just water) to intensify the colour. Anyway, it comes with the instructions. Hope this helps
