Love this Osprey pack!
It used to be true that you get what you pay for but these days there are so many posh brands out there selling garbage for a premium. Yes this Osprey pack has a premium price tag but it is well deserving. I’m a 25+ year mountain biker and I’ve been through a number of hydration packs and this one suits me better than any. It has a rigid frame, which at first concerned me. After wearing it though I realized it wasn’t noticeable at all. The webbing across the back serves to keep the frame away from your body while also holding the pack slightly off your body. No more super hot sweaty back that acts like a water heater to your hydration pack. There are bigger packs with more storage pockets and do-dads but I put this pack to the test right away going for 30+ mile back country rides. The reservoir held the right amount of water and I had more than what I needed in the pack. Never felt the weight of the pack at all. You won’t be disappointed with this one.

Fantastic pack, but...
It really is a super pack in almost every way, but bet most people are trying to figure out where/how to hang a phone on it.. especially for day hikes. (its fantastic for that too, especially in the heat). The shoulder straps are thin, vented, flexy, don't have any extra strapping or attachment points, and all of the other straps are thin/light - all of that is great until you need a place to hang a phone pouch, gps, etc..I got lucky, already had the perfect solution for my iphone 8... Search for Maxpedition PLH for smaller phones, and Maxpedition PLP for larger phones (iphone 8+, X and II)Those phone pouches fit the shoulder straps just right and maxpedition quality is second to none.Just unravel the strap from the buckle on the side you want the phone to be, and slide the phone pouch up and onto the strap as shown, add a clip to the top if need/wanted.On the con side..The hip straps tuck away well enough I guess, but they should be removable. It should have elastic strap tamers, or velcro wraps. As-is the straps flap in the wind. :/Lasty, there should be a magnet on both sides.Other than that, the pack is well thought out, super comfortable, and made with top-notch materials all stitched together nicely.

Light and comfortable, great for short hikes
This is a super comfortable backpack. The shoulder straps feel great, and I like the sturdy wire mesh frame that keeps the bag off of your back to provide ventilation. It also has some useful storage options, especially for such a small bag. We're able to carry two ~20oz water bottles in the side pockets, as well as binoculars in the front pouch. It's a small bag, so get something bigger if you're looking to pack larger items.

Perfect for my use
I’ve used this backpack for 3 months now, and I’m definitely glad I bought the 12l. Once you fill the water bladder it does take up room in the rest of the backpack, so fill that first before packing everything else in. It’s very comfortable and most times I forget I’m wearing it. Like others have said, on some steep sections it can slide up and touch your helmet. Its not terrible but it does happen. The rigid backing piece is nice for airflow and definitely helps with keeping you cooler! You can hold a full face, or half shell on the back. I’ve done this once or twice but found its easier to hang the full face on the handlebars while pedaling. Still it’s convenient to have the option. I highly recommend this backpack!

Great design
I tried out other camelback backpacks but this one just felt better with the fit. Great storage and many compartments, it used all of the space and organizes my stuff very well. The hydration pack is well designed with the connecting system. I like that it also has side pockets for more water bottles. Straps are perfect for keeping the pack next to the body. It vents well in the back too, so you don’t get that sweat …. Perfect size for long days trips in the bike or to keep a lot of stuff for hikes, tools, etc. Very happy with this brand and its reputation as one of the top brands! Glad I bought this one!

Rugged, Comfortable, Spacious
My primary use for this pack is mountain biking. We ride on the aggressive end of what the industry would now label "Trail" riding. We take the jumps and drops seriously and will stop to session park features. Consequently, our riding sometimes involves crashes.I'm usually the mule when we ride, too. So I'm carrying the extra tools, parts, and the layers my wife has shed. This pack has been rugged, comfortable, and spacious enough to work spring through fall in Wisconsin and wherever we have roamed. One design complaint: The included bladder features a hose that has a quick disconnect feature, such that you can re-fill the bladder without having to thread the hose out of the pack. You snap the hose free from the bladder, fill the bladder, drop it back in the pack, and reconnect the hose. However, the disconnector rides alongside the clip that keeps the bladder from sagging down into the bottom of the pack. And on multiple rides the clip has released the hose. Each time I went to quench my thirst, all I'd get is air. I'd have to stop, reconnect the hose, and resume riding. If it happened once I would have thought I had not reconnected the hose properly. But it happens somewhat regularly. Poor design.

Best hydration pack available
I LOVE this pack! I purchased a couple different ones before deciding this was best for me. It has more room than the Camelbak Mule 12, it also has a quick disconnect so you don't have to take the hose out everytime you fill it. The tool storage area is designed nicely. Overall, this pack looks good, is quite functional. The best feature is the "Airspeed mesh" it is tight and keeps the pack away from your back so you don't get sweaty. I don't understand why Osprey doesn't use this system on ALL their packs. I feel it is a bit overpriced, but everything is these days. Buy it. You won't regret it.

Handles the abuse thrown at it
Bought to bring to a music festival. Worked awesome the whole time. The hydration bladder was great, never leaked and easy to clean and fill.
