Amy's book is extremely helpful
Amy's book on 'Strength Training for Seniors' is comprehensive and very helpful. She nicely laid out the benefits of strength training, encouraging elder people to take action for a better and healthier life. From functional to accessory exercises, Amy explains how to implement each exercise in a step-by-step manner, which is very easy to follow. Moreover, she suggests how to maximize the health benefits by taking proper nutrients and vitamins. At the end of the book, Amy even introduces advanced techniques such as plyometrics, supersets, isometric exercises, and high-intensity interval training (HIIT). Those techniques are helpful for those who would like to take their strength training to the next level. The book is well-written and easy to follow (despite a few repetitions in the first two chapters). A great book overall for anyone who is serious about building up strength and having a healthier life.

Just What I Needed!
This book is great for recovering the muscle strength that I’ve loss in the past five years. From little things like not being able to open the peanut buttle jar to struggling to get up off the floor—the exercises are simple enough that I started immediately noticing the difference. This book also provides basic workouts that I can do at home, and I just tag them on to the end of my morning walk. There are also stretches that I start my day with, and even exercises that improve my balance. Every senior adult will appreciate this book. Thank you, Amy Neal!

Good resource
I am fortunate to have a very well-equipped gym in my small town. The staff is very helpful but I don’t choose to pay extra for full one-on-one coaching. This book is an excellent “happy medium”.
