I had a hard time finding a compatible remote for my Canon VIXIA HF G50 4K Camera, they were over $1000 or no longer manufactured. The AODELAN remote control is advertised to be compatible with my model of Canon 4K video camera and they specialize in remotes. I needed a true remote control that affords a long range of untethered freedom for my filming purposes.A CAVEAT: This remote works well if you work with it.The remote did require both included instructions and my Canon manual to tweak or adjust some settings in the camera’s digital menu. For example, I had to go into submenus (on my model camera I had to select RC-V1000 and chose Standard or std). The tiny receiver connects to your camera body (there should be a remote port). The pairing process was simple. Remember to first turn on your camera, then the remote. Sequence matters.The menu window on the remote is small (see photos). You have to choose “menu” and use the + or – buttons to scroll up or down to navigate through the menu. Once the scroll arrow is next to “7. Pair Mode” you’ll have to press the A/M button under IRIS to select it. You’ll then be able to press the red record button to wirelessly start recording, then press it again to stop recording. You can also use the zoom rocker bar at the bottom to toggle right and left to zoom in and out. The + and – buttons on the right of the main remote control the speed. There are 3 speed choices.The plastic is lightweight, and the unit requires 2 AAA batteries (not included). You also want to clamp the device on your tripod handle according to the instructions. The wired connection worked with no issues. You can also tether it if you prefer, and that was the easiest to connect, but for me, wireless is desired and necessary.Overall, this is an inexpensive remote that will help with solo work or long-distance shots. Just be patient with troubleshooting and make sure your camera is compatible.

The media could not be loaded.  For the longest time I was looking to see if any manufacturer had a wireless LANC zoom controller for video cameras, and finally I came across this one. I sometimes operate a Steadicam or gimbal, and it's useful to have a wireless remote zoom controller for the camera so that there's no cable to throw the rig off balance or get tangled up.The setup menu on this controller is a nice bonus because you can customize the max speed on the zoom controller from 1/8, 4/8, to 8/8 (full speed). The +/- buttons on the left and right allow you to adjust the iris and focus of the camera, which is useful to have control over those things especially when you're controlling a remote camera that is out of reach.One of the caveats is that when you are in the setup menu, you cannot control the zoom using the remote. All other control functions seem to be suspended while you're in the menu. If you're in the middle of a shoot and accidentally hit the menu button, the entire controller will appear to stop responding. But all you need to do is hit the MENU button again to exit the menu and resume operation.The zoom rocker has a wide range of motion to zoom in/out. But it reaches its max speed about 1/2 to 2/3 of the way to either side. There is a rather big dead zone at either end of the zoom rocker where the speed no longer increases. Practically speaking for my style of shooting and zoom control, I prefer to have a smaller range of motion. We needed a simple remote for our Canon VIXIA so someone sitting behind a desk can control the basic camera functions and this worked great for our needs. Canon does make a pretty good phone app, but we're usually using our phones to watch stream comments so this is a better option for us.The instruction manual is well detailed, and we did need it to pair the wireless function, but it paired without any hassle. ("When all else fails, read the instructions", lol). The small receiver connects to the camera body, and again, the pairing process was simple. The instructions say to first turn on the camera, then the remote, and the sequence seems important.The menu window is small, but all the details are there if (again) you follow the directions for any settings you need to change for your camera.The unit itself is plastic, which is fine because we don't mess with it much, and it requires 2 AAA batteries (not included). We did test the wired connection worked with no issues, so you can tether it if you want, and that was the easiest to connect, but for us we needed the wireless functionality.Overall, this is an inexpensive remote that helped us quickly solve a studio problem with little cost or effort.Note: Make sure your camera is on the compatibility list, as it didn't work for our Panasonic cameras (and wasn't supposed to)

This Remote works well - It connects to the lanc wireless seamlessly. I am using on an Canon HD video camera. One issue is since the HDMI port and lanc are so close, the lanc will not plug in at the same time. I had to use an estension lanc cable. It would be nice if a short M-F cable were included.The zoom works okay, but i do have a wired remote that does let me variably control zoom much better.

The directions are included and necessary, for novice or beginner videographers, to understand the extent of the wireless camcorder’s capabilities. Using the camcorder remote control can enhance the skills of a beginner simply by using the zoom capabilities which can extend the range clarity exponentially. Other than checking for compatibility, the AODELAN ZC-3 Wireless Camcorder Lanc Zoom Controller performs exactly as one would expect. Requires 2 triple A batteries. A must have, and the ideal gift, for professional, amateur or novice videographers.

This appears to be a totally new release and I'm excited that it is working so well for what I want. I have it mounted on the control arm of a video camera tripod. I did have a simpler remote for some of the same control this has but this unit adds a few extra controls, plus options in the menu that I am finding handy.It requires 2 AA batteries. I have had this controller out on two very cold night time shoots in December in Ontario, Canada. Both sessions added up to about three hours. I didn't check on-site but later at home I turned it on to see how far it ran down and all the battery capacity bars are on. These were low quality AA NiMH batteries so that surprised me. Time will tell if that is typical.The product description mentions it is compatible with a few Sony models so I guess it's OK to mention the camera I use this with is a Sony FDR-AX700. It is the only camera I have with a LANC jack and it's the dedicated video camera of the bunch.The Zoom rocker is well controlled, i.e. it gives good resistance so the action is smooth and the zoom speed doesn't suddenly drop away under your thumb and speed up as it gets to the end of its range. All the main controls of Zoom, Focus, and Iris can be adjust for response speed from in the menu. Values are "1, 2, 3" for rate of change, Slow to Fast. The Focus response was linear and slow to where I wasn't certain if it was responding so I turned on my Peaking. Then I could see how fine it can be adjusted to get that right. Maybe playing with the in camera Focus speed in coordination with this controller's speeds will get it dialed in to how I like it.The Iris adjust is a new feature I haven't had before with the more basic controller this is replacing. In my trials the response was "over driven" many times. It was difficult to think I was pushing the buttons exactly the same way each time but the values of the Iris were often lagging or jumping past the next f stop value I expected to see in my viewfinder. Another oddity of this was that the intervals on increasing vs decreasing were different. For example if "5.6" was an f-stop on the way to f 11, going back the other way wouldn't hit 5.6, it would hit something just above that and then something below it in the 4s. I tried different taps of how quickly I pushed it, how long I held my finger down, etc. So far I don't see a pattern. Twitchy is the best description I can come up with.Remote wireless transceiver plug. This device that plugs into the camera's LANC port instead of using a cable is small, like a right angle 1/8" plug adapter would be sized and shaped. I put a band of high visibility tape around it in case it gets misplaced. So far though it grips in the LANC port firmly.Pairing it with the main controller was seamless. There is no pairing procedure, just plug it in, it lights up using power from the camera and the main controller adds an "Antenna" icon to the top of the screen. Response to controls to the camera were identical using either connection method.The literature mentions being able to use the wireless and the cable simultaneously to control two cameras but the actual method is not in the literature. This unit is so new that there wasn't a PDF of instructions online so I can't critique how that feature works.

Ich war auf der Suche nach einer ordentlichen und vor allem bezahlbaren Fernbedienung für meine Canon XA65 und bin dabei auf diese hier gestoßen. Ich habe sie gerade geliefert bekommen und natürlich sofort getestet.Bisher kann ich also noch keine Langzeit-Erfahrung schildern. Aber hier etwas zu meinem Eindruck:Die Fernbedienung fühlt sich sehr wertig an und funktionierte auf anhieb. Einfach den kleinen Funkempfänger in die Kamera einstecken, Batterien in die Fernbedienung und los gehts. Habe das Teil mit der Schraube an dem Griff (Fluid-Head) von meinem Stativ befestigt. Ja, es ist nicht so fest wie die integrierte Fernbedienung von Manfrotto, aber ich denke für die meisten Anwendungen wird das locker funktionieren.Ich will auch noch versuchen, ob es sogar Sinn macht, die Fernbedienung an einem Sholder-Rig zu befestigen. So könnte man die Kamera bedienen ohne die Hand vom Handle zu nehmen. Dazu aber sicher mehr wenn ich das ausgiebig testen konnte.Bisheriges Fazit: Ich überlege noch ein 2. Teil für meine 2. Kamera zu besorgen.

Ich verfügte auch schon über einfachere Fernbedienungen für einige der gleichen Steuerelemente wie dieses, aber dieses Gerät bietet ein paar zusätzliche Bedienelemente sowie Optionen im Menü, die ich praktisch finde. Es werden 2 AAA-Batterien benötigt. Ich hatte diesen Controller bei zwei sehr kalten Nachtaufnahmen im November am Feldberg/Schwarzwald, im Einsatz. Beide Sessions summierten sich auf etwa vier Stunden. Zuhause habe ich es dann eingeschaltet, um zu sehen, wie weit der Batterieverbrauch ist und alle Batteriekapazitätsbalken leuchten. Dies waren normale AA-NiMH-Batterien. Das hat mich überrascht. Die Zeit wird zeigen, ob das typisch ist.In der Produktbeschreibung wird erwähnt, dass es mit einigen Sony-Modellen kompatibel ist. Ich denke, es ist in Ordnung zu erwähnen, dass es sich bei der Kamera, mit der ich das verwende, um eine Sony FDR-AX700 handelt. Es ist die einzige Kamera, die ich mit einer LANC-Buchse habe. Die Zoom-Wippe ist gut steuerbar, d. h. sie bietet einen guten Widerstand, sodass die Aktion reibungslos abläuft und die Zoomgeschwindigkeit nicht plötzlich unter Ihrem Daumen abfällt und schneller wird, wenn sie das Ende ihrer Reichweite erreicht. Alle wichtigen Bedienelemente für Zoom, Fokus und Blende können im Menü an die Reaktionsgeschwindigkeit angepasst werden. Die Werte sind „1, 2, 3" für die Änderungsrate, langsam bis schnell. Die Fokusreaktion war linear und langsam, bis ich mir nicht sicher war, ob sie reagiert, also schaltete ich meine Peaking-Funktion ein. Dann konnte ich sehen, wie gut es eingestellt werden kann, um das richtig zu machen. Vielleicht wird es so eingestellt, wie ich es mag, wenn ich mit der Fokusgeschwindigkeit in der Kamera in Abstimmung mit den Geschwindigkeiten dieses Controllers spiele. Die Blendeneinstellung ist eine neue Funktion, die ich bei dem einfacheren Controller, der durch diesen ersetzt wird, noch nie genutzt habe. In meinen Versuchen war die Reaktion oft „übertrieben“. Es war schwer vorstellbar, dass ich die Tasten jedes Mal exakt auf die gleiche Weise drückte, aber die Blendenwerte hinkten oft hinterher oder überstiegen den nächsten Blendenwert, den ich in meinem Sucher erwartet hatte. Eine weitere Kuriosität war, dass die Intervalle zwischen steigendem und abnehmendem Wert unterschiedlich waren. Wenn zum Beispiel „5,6“ eine Blendenzahl auf dem Weg zu f 11 wäre, würde beim Zurückgehen in die andere Richtung nicht 5,6 erreicht werden, sondern etwas knapp darüber und dann in den 4 Sekunden etwas darunter. Ich habe verschiedene Tipps ausprobiert, um herauszufinden, wie schnell ich die Taste gedrückt habe, wie lange ich meinen Finger gedrückt habe usw. Bisher sehe ich kein MusterDie Kopplung mit dem Hauptcontroller verlief reibungslos. Es gibt kein Pairing-Verfahren. Schließen Sie es einfach an, es leuchtet auf, wenn die Kamera mit Strom versorgt wird, und der Hauptcontroller fügt oben auf dem Bildschirm ein Antennensymbol hinzu. Die Reaktion auf die Steuerung der Kamera war bei beiden Verbindungsmethoden identisch.VORTEILE:Am wichtigsten für mich ist, dass die Zoomsteuerung reibungslos funktioniert und die Geschwindigkeit stufenweise über das Konfigurationsmenü oder durch den Druck, der auf den unteren Drehknopf ausgeübt wird, eingestellt werden kann. Ebenso kann die Richtung je nach Präferenz zwischen normal und rückwärts geändert werden. Die Bedienung Verfügt über zwei Geschwindigkeitseinstellungen: 1 (niedrig) und 2 (schnell) zum Senden von LANC-Befehlen an den Camcorder, der wiederum per Tastendruck zoomt, fokussiert oder die Blende anpasst. Ich konnte den mitgelieferten 2,5-mm-Klinkenadapter mit einer Reichweite von fast 6 Metern verwenden, der sich hervorragend für den Zugriff auf Funktionen in Studioumgebungen eignet, die weiter von der Kamera entfernt sind. Das Fernbedienungsmodul ist robust gebaut und verfügt über ein robustes Kunststoffgehäuse, das über eine integrierte Klemme verfügt, die das Gewicht beim Halten oder Anbringen erhöht. Es gibt auch mehrere Streifen aus weichem Gummisilikon, die den Stativgriff oder das Stativbein vor Beschädigungen schützen und den Controller fest an seinem Platz halten. Es kann auch am Griff der meisten Stative befestigt werden, sodass Sie es mit der eingebauten Klemme bequem bis zu einer Breite von 3,3 cm erreichen können. Zwei Silikonstreifen halten fest.
