Well worth the effort... AWESOME CUSTOMER SERVICE
Let me start off by saying that it has been a rollercoaster ride with this mattress. Okay, so why the 5 stars, you ask? Well, I will tell you why. When it arrived, everything was great. It was packaged well. Vacuumed sealed so tight I didn't think it would ever unroll right. I gave it the full 72 hours to inflate. That's when the problems occurred. At 75 hours, the mattress had barely inflated to 8 inches. For reference, I bought the 10-inch. And I know sometimes that the measurements can be a bit off, so I considered it my fault for being such a cheap arse and not forking out for the 12 or 14. My reasoning: I was gonna get a topper at some point and I don't want to be like Princess and tf-ng Pea in a room with a low ceiling. I waited another day. Measured again. No sign of movement. I tried to contact the seller and, well anyone who has tried doing anything on Amazon knows how wonderful that is. Instead of giving me the seller, it sent me ring around the rosy with processing a return. I cannot tell you how many times I made it clear that I did NOT want to send it back and I did NOT want a refund. I only wanted help in trying to resolve this issue myself. I felt it was something that could be fixed. If it came to it, then we could talk about credits or refunds. This went on for over an hour. I finally managed somehow to be taken to the manufacturer's website and, once again went through the drama of "No, I don't want to return it and I don't want a refund. I just want help." I finally reached a human being at some point. A person by the name of Maverick contacted me and suggested I set the mattress on the floor and roll around or walk on it a bit. Apparently, sometimes the memory foam doesn't want to decompress all the way. These actions tend to help. I wrote back to him every time there was movement. 9 inches. 9.5 inches. I was so excited the day after my roommate slept on it that it got all the way up to 10 inches inflated! I immediately fired off a note to Maverick to let him know and to thank him for the suggestions. He was patient and told me exactly what needed to be done and why. It never even occurred to me that sometimes memory foam just "be that way" and you have to sort of give it a boost. All that said, I've been sleeping on it now for about a month. It's probably the most firm memory foam I've ever owned, and I probably could have done well with one a bit squishier, but this is fine. I got exactly what I ordered. I'm not gonna complain about that. I don't see any evidence of fiberglass, as mentioned in another review. Of course, I don't ever intent to remove the protective cover and will instead have one on top of it at some point. It being several inches more shallow than other mattresses I've owned, let me just tell you know... it puts them to shame! My previous mattress, same brand, was a 12-inch and not nearly as firm. It had edge issues where you'd fall to the floor if you weren't careful. I don't see that being an issue with this one. It's fairly sturdy sitting on the edge and I imagine that if I had access to the corners they would be the same #sleighbed. And my previous mattress, you could feel the metal slats underneath every freaking time you turned. It was awful. I had to put sheets of plywood down to keep from being gored in the night. With this mattress though?? I don't feel a dang thing. Granted the slats on this bed are wooden and not metal, even when I pounce on the bed, I don't feel a thing - just snuggliness. I'm waiting for my bed to break if I do that again though - for reference, I'm about 345lbs. Do you have any idea what that does to a bed if you just pounce on it like a lion on the Serengeti? Apparently, nothing (knock on wood). The mattress absorbs the impact. I would be confident with dropping an egg from a skyscraper onto this mattress. That is how awesome it is. It didn't have any sort of weird odor when I removed it from its wrapping. The only thing that sort of made it difficult to get any help was that the date of manufacture was missing from the tag when I was trying to get assistance from the manufacturer. If anyone has to deal with that, just take a picture of the tag anyway to prove that it is blank. It'll help you out in the long run. If I'm ever in the market for a mattress again any time soon, I am definitely purchasing this one - as long as it's available. I can sleep at night. It doesn't aggravate my low back pain or even my hip pain. I'm actually grateful it isn't as squishy as I would like because then my problem would be never wanting to get out of bed. Heck, even with my weight (when lying down) I barely sink into the mattress. And at least now I can wake up in the morning and go about my day without feeling as though my body has been hit by a truck and all I want to do is stay in bed. Very happy with this purchase!

all the words in the product title are TRUE
I've bought three of these over the past several years. First two I couldn't take with me when I moved. They've all been of consistent quality on arrival, each one lasted multiple years and hadn't shown any kind of deterioration while I had it, and I really just love the bed. I've tried plenty of others, what with the moving, but even when I have the money for the really expensive ones, I just like this one better. The price point cements it as a no-brainer. Usually memory foam has a lot of drawbacks for me. It's floppy and heavy and a pain to move around. I always overheat on it, and I've never met a foam firm enough to be truly supportive (I'm no waif) without springs of some kind, unless it was thin enough that the bed platform became the support. Which feels a lot like when a cheap air mattress leaks slowly through the night and you wake up mostly on the floor. But THIS one. This one is supportive enough, and I get the pressure-reducing body-contouring effect without ever getting submerged in the thing (I dislike "sleeping on clouds," it feels restrictive). It did develop a divot on my side of the bed once, when I was sick as a dog and basically didn't move for three day, but it sprang right back up after I went back to work. My job is physical, but this has alleviated a LOT of the back and shoulder pain. Also, the cooling gel works great! I sleep ridiculously hot. It's especially bad on memory foam. I've been disappointed in enough "cooling" sheets and clothing materials (yes, I tried even a couple blatant gimmicks over the years) to just disregard it in product descriptions. Imagine my surprise when that first summer hit and I lost way less sleep to overheating than usual. Oh, inflation. I haven't had a problem with any of these three. The mattress comes with instructions. #1 and #3 blew right up within 2 days. The second one had a stubborn corner even after 4 days, but there's youtube videos out there that really get into The Process. I followed those religiously, and it worked itself out. TLDR: 10/10, no notes. It's still floppy and heavy, I guess? It is foam. Maybe I'll sew handles onto the cover.

Holy Crap this bed is AMAZING
So, I was hesitant about buying a foam mattress for so little online. I spent many many minutes reading through the reviews and pictures, memorized the tips and went ahead with my purchase after spending two days going into stores and being horrified by the high price tags for similar products. I ordered this Friday night, and it got here Sunday mid day. The product came in pristine condition and was actually fairly easy to cart upstairs and get it out of its casing. We laid it out on our box spring and kinda of kneaded it with our knees and then ripped the packaging. Ours had zero smell to it so that was a plus. It began to puff up and within a few minutes it was at 8 inches (we purchased the 10 in). After a few hours it has risen to 9 inches. It seems very well made. It IS about an inch or so longer than our box spring but I honestly see this as a bonus and not a negative. Some of the corners were looking kinda scrunched, but that was our fault because we had it too close to the headboard and it didn't have room to expand. We moved it and they straightened right out. I tried to flop down on it, but it's a bit denser than you think so you kinda just stop, but then it begins to meld to your body and this is pure bliss. It is somehow firm and super soft at the same time. Just the few mins I was on it I began drifting off. Seriously the most comfortable mattress I've ever had. And the cover- softest, most luxurious thing I've ever felt. I can see myself sleeping on this with no pillow because it cradled my neck that well. I also have back problems with a lower spine that curves into my body that makes sleeping on my back intolerable- that achiness went away as soon as I got on this wonderful magic glorious mattress. I haven't even spent a whole night on it and I'm already this excited. I'll do updates after a nights sleep etc etc... but join the rest of us who are so in love with this thing and buy it and spend the rest of your money on something else. Attached photo is five mins after opening package. Update 1: it's now been one week of sleeping on this bed. I still love it so much. I want to add recommendations that you need stretchy sheets if you like to feel that your sinking into the bed, normal sheets definetly hold up and make the bed feel more firm than just laying on it with its cover. Also, if you've been a multiple pillow under the head sleeper, you don't need it. I slept with my usual amount of pillows the first few nights and I had some neck & shoulder soreness. I went down to one thin pillow and poof! Perfect sleep. As soon as I lay down, I'm heading off to zzz land which is great because I've previously had a lot of insomnia. No tossing and turning, just blissful sleep. Update 2: I've now had this bed almost a year and it hasn't flattened out at all. Still is the same mix of firm and squishy. Still would buy again.

So far so good.
My wife and I recently bought this bed and have only slept on it for a few nights so far, but I intend this to be a "rolling" review where I update as time passes. (6/19/17) The unpacking: The bed came in a decent sized box that I was able to carry into the apartment with no problem. It was packaged well with many layers of protection for the mattress. I unpacked the mattress and laid it out on our bed frame, which it fit perfectly. I did this around noon time and the bed was fully expanded at a uniform 10" by bed time that night. I observed absolutely no odor upon unpacking. (6/23/17) The first few nights sleep: I was pleasantly surprised with the quality considering the price. I didn't really know what to expect, but I was cautiously optimistic. As everyone says, the bed is soft and firm. To a layman like me, it appears that you sink in until the bottom portion of "memory foam", which is where all the support really comes from. My wife and I have both been pretty happy with our sleep so far and both have noted longer stretches of sleep and less readjusting throughout the night. For now, I am leaving the rating at 4/5. (7/7/17) An update after a few weeks of sleep. Its holding up well, still comfortable, and is agreeing with both my wife and I and neither of us wake up with back pain any more. No buyer's remorse so far. Very happy with this purchase and have upgraded to 5/5 stars for now. (8/7/17) Love it. I actually think the bed is getting more comfortable as its being "broken in" a little bit. Sleeping better than ever. Never wake up with aches and the bed is holding up after months of use. Both still happy! 6/2018 We ended up buying a new bed after a year. After about 6 months the quality declined. Keeping at at 4 stars. There will be no further update. We are keeping it as a guest bed and have received compliments. For the price, i would call this a quality temporary solution. Certainly not a great long term option.

Best Mattress I have ever owned!
Where to start? I am no spring chicken. I am 51, so I have had a few mattresses in my life. Got married late in life (7 years ago), and the wife brought an expensive queen size Sealy mattress / box spring set with her. Chucked my old one. It was starting to show its age, and I sweat pretty heavily, as well as have sleep apnea, so I toss and turn quite a bit. We looked at a local mattress chain store, and I had sticker shock!! There was no way I was going to pay the crazy prices they wanted. So looking around, I saw this one from Zinus, and was very, very impressed. At least it LOOKED good on the screen. It took a week or so to get, as Amazon does not stock it locally here in my area. So I took a chance. Amazing how small the package is for a king size mattress. There are unboxing videos on YouTube. Anyhow, put the new bed frame together... We went with the Zinus heavy king frame. Basically it is two twin frames screwed together. Setup could not have been easier. I will do a seperate review on that one. Frame was together, undid mattress and then put it on the bed and had to wait for it to fully inflate. I know you're reading this and thinking I'm on drugs. Fear not, I'm clean and sober! The mattress has to inflate. The manual recommends, if I remember correctly, 24 hours, but after an hour or so, it was fine. I could not wait to get on this thing and try it. Quick trip up the street to Walmart to get a king size sheet set, (remember the wife had a queen)... put sheets on and got in bed. Did I suddenly lose my hearing? What the??!! It was TOTALLY SILENT!!! I was so used to hearing the noise of the springs, and feeling the movement, but there was NONE OF THAT!! This thing is incredible. I have a tendency to stay up later than the wife about 1/2 the nights. I have to be really tired before I lay down. Part of this is due to the fact that our condo is old and does not have central air. We have air in the living room, but nowhere else. WIth the money I saved, I need to invest in a portable for the bedroom. Just have not done it yet. So anyway, I can come in to bed, and the only thing that disturbs her, is if she is sleeping on my side of the bed. She has a habit of putting her head on my side and sleeping diagonally being a total bed hog. LOL!! If she is not, and sleeping on her side, she has no idea. Never hears me, never feels the bed move. This thing is INCREDIBLE! The only 'downside' is if I ever have to buy another one, I would get the one without the Gel-Infused Green Tea. It is supposed to make you cooler, and not get as hot, but I really don't notice a difference. My son has the one without it, and I really don't notice a difference. I am NOT going to remove a star for that, as the price difference is so minimal. I wish I could give it more that 5 stars!! Final thought. They list the weight capacity at 400 pounds plus or minus. I even called the manufacturer to confirm this. The wife and I are actually about 650 pounds combined (yes, we eat good!) and have had no problems. We got the mattress and set it up on July 3rd, and I am writing this review 3 months plus a few days later, and it still looks brand new! The frame supports somewhere around 1500 lbs, and it has never once made a sound. GO FOR IT!!

I wanted so badly to like it, but...
My dad already has one from a few years ago which I had slept on when he was in the hospital a couple months ago, and I loved it. It really changed my mindset at that time about memory foam, which I hadn't slept on in about 25 years. I figured in that time, a lot of things may have changed for the better. I was definitely in the market for a new mattress, so I thought I would go this route instead of going the traditional, more expensive one. I ordered the new version with the the cooling aspect. I can't say "gel," because I'm unsure if it has it, even though the description says it does. My mom ordered the same mattress, but in the older version, and hers came with a gel pad that you could see on top. Mine looked very different and didn't have an obvious cooling gel pad. Hers still hasn't fully expanded, but mine popped right out and was fully formed immediately. Obviously, that's one of the aspects of the new model. I will say that if I bought this just for me and/or I didn't have a husband that I'm sleeping next to, it may have worked out okay, especially for the price. But somebody else here described that when two people are on this mattress, you both sink towards the center. Not only that, the edges almost feel like they have a harder roll (also described by that same reviewer). So, any time you're trying to get out of the bed, you're literally climbing up and over the lip to get out. Although I'm not ailing in any way, I'm nearly 60, so it makes it that much harder. It's also hard to roll over with a partner, since you're both essentially forced towards the middle by the lip on either side. Not only that, I've had a number of nights where I had to kick all the covers off because I was sweating. That's why I'm saying I'm not sure where the cooling aspect is on my newer mattress as opposed to my mom's, but I certainly have had the memory foam hot flash issues. I'm returning it and have already ordered a traditional Sterns and Foster mattress. I'm super thrilled for all the people that have not had issues with it. My thought is if you still want to go forward with it, maybe get the older model (which, I will clarify, my dad's 3-year-old mattress isn't like my mom's new "older model"). On the positive side, I will say it does seem to be well made and packaged wonderfully. I've noticed some people talking about smell, but I didn't notice anything like that.

All the good None of the bad. Happiness in a box at an affordable price. Donโt hesitate any longer!
As said by many. Great mattress at an unheard of price point. Bought this because a friend bought one and we sleep on it when we visit. I sleep better than on my 2000.00 9 month old name brand mattress with pillow top ( mattress only, kept our old box spring, though mattress company highly recommended we purchase the full set for better performance ๐คฃ). Seriously, if I hadnโt just bought that one....so what we did was buy this awesome mattress and put our fancy schmancy mattress in the guest room. Unboxed it and laid it across two twin beds. Took a few hours to come to size, so we left it alone, with the door shut (no peeking) for about 26 hours. It measured within 1/8โ of an inch of the 10โ promised. Unlike others Iโm not gonna complain. Iโm sure if measured again now 2 months later, it might be 10โ but no matter the thickness it settled at, it is an amazingly comfortable, firm mattress. Exactly what we wanted after GADS of research on my part. I literally have no complaints after 60 days. I am 95 lbs and my husband is 198 lb. No body indents, no rolling to the center like I did on the 2000$ mattress. I do not notice โsleeping hotโ. If this mattress lasts 4 years, itโs a win/win. Standard 2000$ mattresses are supposed to be replaced after 8 years ( gee, I wonder if that recommendation comes from the mattress company.,๐ง) I could buy 5 of these over the next 20 years at the cost of around 1400.00 or 2 standard innerspring mattresses (no box spring, Iโm assuming Iโm not the only one smart enough not to fall for that upsell!) for 4000.00 hmmmmmmmmmm, and Iโm quite sure this will last more than 4 years. Ok letโs recap: 1. Mattress will grow if you leave it alone and donโt peek. 2. Price is unbelievably more affordable to everyone than SM ( standard mattress). At the same time the quality is not compromised. 3. Described as firm, and it is firm but super comfortable....no pressure point pain for us middle age folk. 4. Placed on a platform base, this is to make it perform better and last longer than on the metal frame sold separately. If you have or will purchase a metal frame, put a piece of thick plywood on frame, under this mattress, and you shouldnโt have indents and lumpy spots like others have noticed. Itโs just common sense that a smooth flat surface will be better than the metal open surface of the frame. 5. Immediately covered with a zip on full encasement, water resistant mattress cover. 6. Sleep like you are 20 again! If you are in your 20โs reading this, enjoy, you too will be middle aged and creaky boned some day โyou whippersnapper you!โ Hope this helps those of you who are on the fence about a mattress in a box ๐ฆ that our parents would never trust....

Favorite mattress!
Love this mattress, itโs the second one Iโve bought in the last two years! I have actually thought about replacing my high-end mattress for this this one! Has a slight smell for the first few days but goes away after airing out.

Comparable to my much more expensive mattress
I was sleeping on an air mattress at my mom's place because she was sleeping on the only mattress in the entire house that doesn't kill my back. I now have a shoulder impingement, so sleeping got that much harder for me. I ordered one of these to be shipped to my mom's to replace one of her old (& I mean OLD) mattresses. The box was waiting for me when I arrived. It was heavy, so Mom didn't want to bring it upstairs. I unboxed it and carefully cut through the multiple layers of plastic. Because it has no springs, you don't have to worry about being knocked on your rear by it suddenly popping out of the plastic. I found that it expanded very quickly to its full thickness, but I still waited until the next night to sleep on it. There was no smell to speak of. I have a very sensitive nose since I don't use a lot of scented products. This is made in Canada, to boot. Sleeping on the mattress: It felt medium firm, comparable to my much more expensive also Canadian made Douglas mattress. I slept as well on it as I do my own mattress at home. It didn't make my back or hips hurt worse. My back is very fussy about mattresses, so I was elated that this one worked out, and that I have a good mattress to sleep on whenever I visit my mom. We even ordered a second one for my son to replace the crappy one on the bed he sleeps in there. He found it comfortable, and had no complaints even though he's not used to a foam mattress. When we can afford it, I'll be ordering another for my son's bed here at home. I can't yet speak to the quality, but time will tell. Thus far, I highly recommend for fussy backs!

I love, love, love this mattress! Perfect comfort, support, and cool sleep.
I absolutely love this Zinus Full 10-inch Green Tea Cooling Gel Memory Foam Mattress! From the moment I laid down on it, I knew it was going to be a game-changer for my sleep. It strikes the perfect balance between comfort and support, cradling my body while keeping my spine properly aligned. Comfort & Pressure Relief The memory foam adapts perfectly to my body, relieving pressure points on my back, shoulders, and hips. The cooling gel layer keeps the mattress comfortable and prevents overheating, making it perfect for a cool, restful sleep. I wake up feeling fully refreshed with far less stiffness than I used to experience on my old mattress. Green Tea Infusion & Freshness The green tea infusion is a thoughtful touchโit helps keep the mattress smelling fresh and odor-free, which makes the unboxing and first nights a much more pleasant experience. Quality & Certification This mattress is CertiPUR-US certified, so I feel confident knowing the foam meets strict standards for content, emissions, and durability. Itโs a well-constructed mattress that has held its shape perfectly over weeks of use, with no sagging or uneven wear. Convenience It comes compressed in a box, making setup easy and hassle-free. Unboxing and allowing it to expand was simple, and it reached full size quickly. Warranty & Peace of Mind The 10-year warranty gives extra reassurance that this is a mattress built to last. I feel confident in my investment knowing Zinus stands behind their product. Final Thoughts Overall, this mattress is comfortable, supportive, and keeps me cool throughout the night. The combination of green tea infusion, cooling gel, and pressure-relieving memory foam makes it an excellent choice for anyone looking for a restful, rejuvenating sleep.

Worth the price
I am quite pleased with this bed in a box. My daughter and I had no issues in unpacking it, and like the instruction said, wait for 72 hours to inflate. I must say it's a very comfortable mattress, the right mixture of soft yet firm. My body feels quite rested after sleeping.

Utter garbage!
I purchased the Twin 10-Inch Green Tea Cooling Gel Memory Foam Mattress in March 2026 to use as an occasional bed. I have severe asthma and sometimes need to sleep on the floor near an open door to breathe more comfortably, so that was its intended purpose. After several months of trying to sleep on it, I've decided I won't use it again because it is incredibly uncomfortable. When you first lie down, the mattress feels quite firm, but the top layer is temperature-sensitive memory foam. As soon as your body warms it, you begin to sink into the mattress, causing poor spinal alignment and placing pressure on your hips, shoulders, and lower back. As a result, I consistently woke up with aches and pains, especially in my hips. I realize this isn't an expensive mattress, but there's no reason for it to be so poorly designed. If the top two inches used a more supportive foam instead of temperature-sensitive memory foam, I think it could be a decent occasional bed. I've decided to get rid of it and won't subject myself to that discomfort again. My advice is to keep shopping and be sure to read the negative reviews before deciding on any Amazon mattress.
