How to open and reset the code on my brimks 3 dial lock

Thank you for your interest in our Brinks 171-40051 combination lock. To set the lock: 1. Set the dials to current combination on the lock (the default combination is 0-0-0) 2. Rotate the shackle 180 degrees 3. Press down on the shackle and rotate the dials to the desired combination 4. Pull the shackle up and the new combination is locked in.

It says ‘perfect for backpacks’- will this fit on a zipper?

Hello, Thank you for your interest in our Brinks 171-40051 40mm Solid Brass Combination Lock, the shackle diameter of this lock is about .25 in. which could be a bit think to fit in a backpack zipper. I would suggest going with the "BRINKS 171-30201 30Mm Solid Brass Keyed Lock" as the shackle is a little bit thinner.

I had that happen to me when my wife spun the combination wheels before I closed it. Only way to open it was with a bolt cutter. Sorry...
