This product is great. We needed for a switch that is not supposed to be turned off, and even with a sign people still turn it off. We bought this cover and no more issues. It was super easy to install, and it looks good too.

We have a chamberlain garage door opener and our kiddo is just the right height to hit the button. This of course, causes us a lot of worry that he will take his scooter our without telling us or something else, and as concerned parents, we want to know when and were our kid is. This cover installed over the opener really easily; one side in a stud and the other used the included drywall anchors. It's secure to the wall and he can't press the button unless it's open. You can slide something like a popsicle stick through the vent holes and press the button from the side, but we're ok with that since he can't do it or hasn't figured it out yet. It gives us some time to instill responsibility with our son and gives us peace of mind in the mean time.

Sometimes it's important to have a locking mechanism on an outlet, switch or thermostat. I was excited when I saw this outlet cover pop up on my feed, but I misunderstood the listing and thought it was a set of 8 with a wire exit/cut-out, when it was just a ~single~ cover and the 8 was a capital letter "B".Imagine my surprise when I saw a beautiful floral decorated carton with just 1 cover... ;-p I went back to the listing and sure enough, the description was plural "Outlet Covers,Plug Covers for Electrical Outlets,Socket Covers"That single cover is nice. But I wanted a set of wire exit/cut-out covers so that the covers would be more versatile and could be used on an a/c outlet OR a lightswitch plate OR a thermostat. The plastic is clear and has good weight to it (it comes with a protective film to prevent scratches that should be removed before 1st use). It fits a standard outlet with a standard face-plate, but not outlets where I have a larger, more decorative face-plate.The key is great, especially in rental units when you have a Nest or something and want to remotely control temperature without interference. The included screws and jackets are pretty short and flimsy (see photos), so if you are going to drill this into a stud or beam, you may want to change those out for a more substantive set. There were no instructions or directions and the floral box was unexpected.I think $17.99 for one cover (at the time of this review), is pricey, and thought $17.99 for 8 was a true bargain. I needed this to cover an outlet that haz s wifi extender plugged in it,in a public building. It barely fit over the wifi extender but I made it work. Easy to install, smooth operation of hinge and locking mechanism. However if someone really wanted it a screwdriver would be all it took. But if you need this for children or something similar I Imagine it would work great. Hasn't been ripped out of the wall were I installed it at so far and it's an area used by teenage boys and girls.

I bought this to put in my 2 y/o son's room to keep him from being able to unplug his a/c. Within a week the lock started failing and my son was able to open the box without a key. He managed to break the door off of the box completely. I would not recommend this product for parents looking to keep their kids safe.
