Q: How many days the seeds need to germinate?

The biggest factor affecting germination is the temperature of the soil. At 75-85 degrees, germination will occur in about a week. I suggest you soak the seeds in tepid water for 24 hours before sowing them.

Q: Is this type of sunflower good for roasting and eating the seeds?

These are beautiful flowers but I do not believe the seeds are suitable for eating.

Q: If i order these in August 2019, will seeds still be good for planting in Spring of 2020?

Yes. I ordered seeds in 2017 and I planted them 3 years in a row and 95% grew. Tip: start them in plantable pods, then plant in ground in the pod when 2' or more tall.

Q: What soil is the best to plant these beautiful flowers in? Also is it better to sow them inside until germinated?

I started a few inside with potting soil, they are doing great but i saved several to direct sow in late April or May. In my experience sunflowers don’t transplant well.
