Great sharpener I bought 2, one about a year or so ago for my teacher friend and she still has it her classroom today. I bought one for my house as my children are now into coloring with color pencils and doing crafts. It has worked wonders. It is easy to use, now loud at all, and the pencil shaving drawer it easy to remove for ease of cleaning. Great sharpener for a great price.

I am a middle school teacher who does A LOT of coloring and artistic things to enhance my curriculum. I have used Xacto electric sharpeners, Bostitch (expensive ones/cheaper ones), other brands....But THIS ONE!!! OMG, the students have never used a better sharpener in their lives. Instantly the pencils come out needle sharp, AND perfectly symmetrical (no skewed sharpened tips). When the students came in they were like, whuuuuh, OMG...and took out all their pencils to sharpen them. After each sharpen, they make this amazed face like, WOW lol.I go through a bazillion colored pencils and this magic beaver (I call it that), sharpens like 50 pencils in lightning speed. The blades are laser cut t maximize sharpening in a fraction of time. 💞I am NEVVVVER buying another sharpener brand!!!!

Awesome pencil sharpener. It’s fast and easy to use. Love the suction cups to help keep it in place as well. It’s super quiet and easy to clean.

Wonderful pencil sharpener. It even stops when the pencil is sharpened.

It is plug-in electric; not battery electric. The pencil guide holes should be round; not triangular. The pencil I have is a round contractor pencil, and the only hole that will accept it allows the pencil to be sharpened off-center or at a slight angle requiring the user to figure out how to hold it to achieve Center sharpening. Good sharpening function, but disappointed in the imprecise pencil guiding.

Works well! Suction cup base prevents it from moving on the table so it's really stable. Pencils are all very consistently sharpened to the same point.

Solid and dependable

What is the alternative?—X-Acto's latest trash that burns out after a few days or weeks?I'm an art teacher. I do not allow children to use electric sharpeners, because I want sharpeners that last for more than a few minutes. I don't sharpen a few pencils. I sharpen pencils by the dozen, by the hundreds. I sharpen more pencils than other teachers. I sharpen a LOT of pencils, and I've used a LOT of sharpeners over the years.Manual sharpeners are great for a few pencils, but then the blades and gears wear out, and tips start breaking.Quality sharpeners have to be electric, not battery powered. At the very least, the blades must employ a helical design, and need to be made of hard carbon steel. I don't believe anyone makes good blades these days. They all seem to wear out after a few hundred pencils. Generally, you cannot easily replace blades—you have to throw everything out and buy a new sharpener.This thing is smaller and lighter than expected. At first, I could not understand why the motor wasn't spinning, or would only turn a little, then stop. You will have to push pencils in with more force than you are likely accustomed to, and you will fear breaking the thing you just bought.When the pencil is sharp, you will feel the blades draw back and "chatter." The motor continues spinning while a pencil is pushed in, but nothing is being sharpened. However, the sharpener is aggressive, and shortens pencils with each use. It does not quite sharpen and stop instantly.The motor does not seem to spin as fast as does that of the X-Acto School Pro, and this model does not sharpen as fast. However, the X-Acto will burn up under any real use.I cannot say if this thing will sharpen 500 cheap colored pencils and keep going. The X-Acto sharpened 500 cheap colored pencils, then died. This might very well do the same; when I have opportunity to put this thing under a real load, I'll update this review.For now, my review is considering speed and ease of use. Durability has yet to be determined.
