A definite upgrade from a normal ceramic hob
The power boots is incredibly fast, they are 14 other settings can take some getting used to, but once you have, you'll find you have much more control than a normal ceramic hob

Quality hob with extra features but with wrong dimensions in description.
Having recently installed a heat pump, I needed to replace my gas hob to have my gas supply removed to get the full cost savings. I chose this AEG hob because it was the only one offered with less than 4cm depth to fit in my existing work top, although it was more than twice the price of cheaper options. I was amazed to find that the depth was 4.4cm, not 3cm as described. I managed to fit by cutting into the unit below. Excellent performance though, once fitted. I am still receiving daily emails from Amazon trying to sell me more hobs!

You have to provide your own electric cable.
The 1 star is purely related to the connection point. You have to provide your own electric cable. In my 40 years of being an electrician I have never seen such a badly designed electrical connection point. Haven't used the hob yet but will update.

Gas cooking is a fading memory
I've always enjoyed cooking on gas hobs. The immediacy of the flame, the obvious visual and auditory feedback, the spectacle of it. Until I had an opportunity to try an induction hob at an AirBnB I was always very skeptical about the technology, equating it in my mind with the miserable electric element hobs of my youth. This AEG hob is very easy to use, with the main user experience bonus being the numbered power strips, which are a lot easier to use than having to press a plus button X number of times for each hob. After powering on and unlocking the hob, you just press the desired power for each ring you want to use. The display is clear and I haven't had any issues controlling the temperature. In terms of power and efficiency, I think the hob vastly outclasses my old gas hob. The boost power for boiling is a gamechanger and the low power options are great for stovetop slow cooking. The hob has a typical shiny tempered glass top that is easy to wipe clean, though I do worry about dropping things on it. There are protectors that can be used to protect the surface, even when the hob is in use, though, which seems like magic to me.Recommended.

Smart, Intuitive and Simple to Operate.
Very pleased with this unit, it is easy to use from the off, easy to clean. Worth having an electrician to install correctly, it’s not plug and play.

Great
Didn’t think anything electric would come close to being as good as cooking with gas. But really happy we went with this, ridiculously quick and really controllable. Very happy with it.
