VCELINK Toolless RJ45 Connector Cat6, Field Termination, Reusable, 4 Pack

These are very nicely made tool free RJ45 connectors. I needed connectors for the end of an SWA armoured cat 6 ethernet cable. The gauge of the wires were too big for a standard RJ46 connector but they fitted perfectly first time with these. It says tool free, but you will still need wire cutters and wire strippers to expose the wires and cut them to the correct length to fit into the connector. You dont need a crimping tool, but you do need to apply some pressure when assembling to made the contacts push into the wires. Fairly quick and easy to use though.

Were a little fiddly to work out at first but when you get into the groove they are really simple and reliable. I hate doing ethernet and these made it pretty easy..

Works well, but very fiddly to hold everything together as you assemble the plug. It took me a little while to work out which wire went where on these, and I had to have two shots at the first one, but once I figured out the order it was straightforward enough. One important tip is that the leads on the top level should be trimmed a little shorter than those on the bottom to avoid them being crimped together when you assemble the plug. It's pretty obvious when you see how it clips together.

Used to replace damaged plug, easy to fit, didn’t need ant specialist tools, works well.

Although these connectors are pricier compared to the traditional ones that require tools, the ease of use makes them well worth it. The build quality is excellent, and they make fitting cables quick and efficient. If you want a hassle-free way to get your Ethernet setup done without extra tools, these are a great choice.

I'm in the process of replacing my home's network cables and I wanted an easier solution to terminating the cable. I find the standard RJ45 connectors a bit fiddly as you have to cut the wires precisely and ensuring the wires don't get mixed up when inserting them into the connector can be a hassle. So, I bought four of these VCELINK Tool-Free RJ45 Connectors, I wish I'd bought a pair of the VCELiNK Precision Flush Cutters at the same time as well. My first attempts to assemble the connector were made difficult by trying to cut the wires with a pair of scissors. I just couldn't achieve a flush fit in the loading clock so the block wouldn't locate in the main body properly. After buying a pair of the VCELiNK flush cutters it was a piece of cake. The connector has the IDC type connections where the wires are forced into V shaped metal contacts which slice through the wire's insulation to make contact. I did find I was unable to push the loading block fully home by just holding it and using my thumb but, by putting it onto a firm surface and applying downward pressure the block snapped into place. I then confirmed that the cable was working with a cable tester. These connectors are big compared to standard RJ45 plugs so, if space is tight, for instance inside a device, they may not be suitable. Another advantage is that they are reusable too. I'm very happy with these tool free connectors and will buy them again.

The assembly of components is really neat and impressive once you click everything together, but I've noticed a bad flaw with the terminal contacts (the V shape which pierces the insulation). These contacts are extremely flimsy, and its highly possible that in some cases the terminal doesn't pierce the insulation to make good contact. I was unlucky enough to experience this on the first try, but I actually found the problematic terminal upon inspection and managed to bend it back into a working position. Great idea, and when it works it's impressive, but my gut is telling me to buy a good expensive crimp tool and quality rj45 connectors instead. And it's what I'm going to do next payday. Pros: impressive design, neat assembly, secure clamping of rj45 connector with rear twisting lock mechanism. Cons: expensive for what they are, weak V terminal that doesn't always pierce the insulation fully, this causes you to be unsure about the contact with wire body.

It takes some effort to get the cover on after wiring all the cables. The instructions were not super helpful, so, had to watch youtube videos to wire it correctly. At first, I was only getting max 100Mbps, then found out it happens if not all wires are connected properly. After redoing, it got upto 850Mbps on my 1GB broadband. So, works when you wire it correctly. But it takes time, patience and a bit of hand coordination.
