OUTSTANDING VALUE
Very fast shipping !! And for someone living in teh arctic that's says a lot. The sensor worked very well, it is made of quality materials and is astonishingly easy to use. The kit comes with three sensors but the board only takes one of the sensors due to the connector types mounted on the board. Now, it does come with extra connectors that will fit the sensors, so I am going to see if I can modify the board to solder in the extra connectors included with the kit. I'm thinking that this board is used for many other types of sensors which have different types of connctors and the company includes the extras for setting the board up for three inputs.I am very happy with the product and plan to purchase more.Photos from left to right.Photo one no water board set. Photo two the sensore. Photo three the red LED is le=it indicating the sensore is in the water.

These work well.
Works as expected, Integrate with your own controls to get the most out of them. The board it comes with is about good for testing. :) Great Buy!Very Easy to use

Waterproof water level sensor
The sensor is sealed, you don't have to worry about drilling a tank or bucket if you don't want to. You can just hot glue it on the inside of a bucket or water tank if that is what you want to do and it will be fine.*You must be certain that the type of liquid will not damage the sensor. This sensor is plastic and is NOT for solvents like gasoline or acetone!*This light based water level sensor works great. I just tried it in R/O water and it works as expected. The quality of what I've got here looks good. I am not sure what the board is supposed to be for, perhaps this also makes it a replacement for something else.On Arduino, you can just digitalRead the sensor for a HIGH or LOW value with no board or other components involved. Seems to be highly responsive to its state change. Trivial to code and implement. A great product!*For higher accuracy, use AnalogRead on the sensor (which is 5v) to get a value from around 25-1050. They read very low, under 200 or usually less when wet in R/O water and usually over 1000 out of water. I use 500 as my threshold and it works great.

So so
Won't work in very clean water

Output is active low
I was expecting a configurable active high or low output. This one is active low - only. Adding a simple "NOT gate" is a quick fix for active high output. The sensor works and responds well to contact with liquid.

Did not work!
Tried the sensor connected to the demo board provided and powered with the USB cable provided, the 2 LEDs came on (one red one blue). When the optical sensor is immersed in water, it did not detect water and nothing happens, expected to see the 3rd led light up indicating that the sensor was immersed in liquid.Dangerous if you plan on using this for an auto top off system, unless you plan on destroying your aquatic lifes.

These are analog sensors
Great little sensor, but be aware that you will need to connect this to an analog pin on your micro controller. I get a value anywhere from 0-4095, depending on how "submerged" the sensor is in water. Also helpful to know is the red wire is 3-5vdc, blue wire is ground, and yellow wire is the analog signal. You don't have to use the included board but it's nice for troubleshooting.

Works fine connected directly to arduino without capacitor.
Worked just fine wired directly to the Arduino without the capacitors (see attached photo). I didn't see any spurious readings due to noise in the serial monitor. Analog reads 984-985 when dry and 4-5 when wet. I removed one star because the circuit diagram is poorly drawn and just confusing.Otherwise should work fine to monitor the water level in my hydroponic reservoir. I haven't installed it yet so I will update this review if anything goes wrong.
