This book is an interesting and dark read. It presents some of the basic themes of communism such as the value of state over the individual. The reader journeys through the mind of one of Stalin’s worst monsters (Beria). This book is a tough read, but it clearly shows the rot at the core of the Soviet Union as well as the dangers of communism.
