I would say yes. I wear them for hunting (sitting motionless for 3-4 hours at 10-25°F). Wearing these with one good pair of wool socks, is more effective than two pairs of wool socks and a set of toe warmer pouches.

Q: are these meant to be worn inside your socks on bare feet or over your socks?

The Hot Sockee can be worn either way, however the original intent was and still is to wear over your socks in shoes, boots and slippers. We feel this is best is cold temps and when exerting. The uses are broad and being a premium quality neoprene sock Hot Sockee can also be worn directly on bare feet for other uses that do not require a sock, open shoes or even under a sock many customers have reported.

Q: Do they need to be washed after every use?

They do not need to be washed after every use. Wash as needed. Personally I wash seasonally or if they become muddy or dirty. This is mostly because they are worn over your sock layer. Thank you for your question.

Hello. The neoprene is thin and wearable, nice feeling on the foot. When you wear it it feels like you are not wearing anything extra on the foot.
