Received an original (OG) GL.Inet product! Very happy with my purchase :)
I don't think I need to stress how good this router is for travel router needs. The price they're charging in India is reasonable because shipping internationally would cost a lot more than this. Product came well packaged and sealed, and includes US / EU / Indian plugs in the box. Everything works fine, and because it's only 5V3A, you can even use a standard smartphone charger / adaptor to run it. By default, it runs on a fork of OpenWRT. It also natively supports OpenWRT and has a lot of storage (256MB) so you can install anything you want. Even the stock firmware is really good. All in all, go for it if you can, otherwise the TP-Link TL-WR1502X is another (more basic) option available as of now.

Powerful travel router, works well after setup
Solid travel router with great performance once it’s up and running. Mine stopped booting after a couple of weeks (no Wi-Fi SSID, no Ethernet), which was scary at first, but it turned out to be a firmware soft-brick. I was able to recover it fully using the U-Boot recovery guide from GL.iNet support. Worth knowing for buyers: if it looks dead, don’t panic — it’s recoverable. Been working fine since.

I recently had the pleasure of using the GL.iNet GL-MT3000 (Beryl AX) Small Portable Wifi 6 Router, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. This compact device is a powerhouse when it comes to delivering high-speed, reliable internet connectivity on the go. First and foremost, the Wifi 6 technology is a game-changer. It offers faster speeds and greater capacity, making it perfect for streaming, gaming, and handling multiple devices simultaneously without a hitch. I noticed a significant improvement in the performance and range compared to my previous portable routers. Setting up the GL-MT3000 was a breeze. The user-friendly interface and clear instructions made the process quick and painless. Within minutes, I had a secure and stable internet connection. The router’s compact size is another major advantage, fitting easily into my bag and making it an ideal travel companion. What sets the Beryl AX apart is its impressive feature set. It includes robust security options, such as VPN support and advanced encryption, ensuring that my data remains safe and private no matter where I am. The ability to switch between different modes, like router, repeater, and access point, adds to its versatility. I bought this router to boost my Wi-Fi connection in order to use a vr properly without any frame rate problems and it was a fantastic solution! The GL-MT3000 is an outstanding compact router that delivers impressive performance considering its small size. Thanks to Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) support, the connection is fast, stable, and noticeably more efficient than older travel routers, even with multiple devices connected simultaneously. One of the strongest points of this device is its built-in VPN support (OpenVPN and WireGuard), which makes it ideal for travelers, remote workers, and privacy-conscious users. The ability to act as both a VPN client and server is a huge advantage and works reliably. Security features like WPA3 and modern DNS options add further peace of mind. Despite its advanced capabilities, the setup is straightforward for basic use, while more experienced users can take full advantage of the OpenWrt-based firmware to customize the network in depth. The router is lightweight, well built, and easy to carry, making it perfect for hotels, shared networks, or temporary home setups. Overall, the GL-MT3000 offers an excellent balance of performance, portability, and advanced features. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a powerful travel router or a flexible compact networking solution.

I'm not someone who usually leaves reviews, but I felt it was worth commenting on this particular item – the wireless travel router. I haven’t explored many of the advanced features (like VPN or file sharing), but for my needs, this device has been near perfect. I’ve been travelling between hotels and Airbnbs lately, and I use it as a bridge for the internet provided at each place. The big win for me is being able to set my WiFi name and password to match what I use at home, so all my devices connect automatically without needing to reconfigure them at every stop. Whether it’s my laptop, iPad, or phone, everything just works the moment I arrive and plug it in. It handles hotel login portals easily, whether it’s through a username and password or a web-based login. It also works fine with cabled internet connections. The signal range is much better than I expected for such a compact device. It’s whisper quiet, uses minimal power, and the user interface is simple and straightforward. It makes hopping from one accommodation to another much less painful from a tech setup perspective. If I had one minor complaint, it's that I can't find an option to view the total data usage across all connected devices. You can see individual device usage, which is helpful, but I’d love to be able to reset and track total data used per location – especially when dealing with limited WiFi quotas in Airbnbs or hotels. That aside, I’d highly recommend this device for anyone who travels regularly with multiple devices. It’s affordable, efficient, and genuinely makes life on the road a lot easier.
