I don't think I need to stress how good this router is for travel router needs. The price they're charging in India is reasonable because shipping internationally would cost a lot more than this. Product came well packaged and sealed, and includes US / EU / Indian plugs in the box. Everything works fine, and because it's only 5V3A, you can even use a standard smartphone charger / adaptor to run it. By default, it runs on a fork of OpenWRT. It also natively supports OpenWRT and has a lot of storage (256MB) so you can install anything you want. Even the stock firmware is really good. All in all, go for it if you can, otherwise the TP-Link TL-WR1502X is another (more basic) option available as of now.

Solid travel router with great performance once it’s up and running. Mine stopped booting after a couple of weeks (no Wi-Fi SSID, no Ethernet), which was scary at first, but it turned out to be a firmware soft-brick. I was able to recover it fully using the U-Boot recovery guide from GL.iNet support. Worth knowing for buyers: if it looks dead, don’t panic — it’s recoverable. Been working fine since.

Bardzo pozytywnie mnie zaskoczył. Super oprogramowanie w urządzeniu. Mnie najbardziej zależało na VPN - jest elastyczne w konfiguracji.

I was able to install openwrt with passwall and singbox with help of LLMs. It works for now.

It handles hotel login portals easily, whether it’s through a username and password or a web-based login. It also works fine with cabled internet connections. The signal range is much better than I expected for such a compact device. It’s whisper quiet, uses minimal power, and the user interface is simple and straightforward. It makes hopping from one accommodation to another much less painful from a tech setup perspective. If I had one minor complaint, it's that I can't find an option to view the total data usage across all connected devices. You can see individual device usage, which is helpful, but I’d love to be able to reset and track total data used per location – especially when dealing with limited WiFi quotas in Airbnbs or hotels. That aside, I’d highly recommend this device for anyone who travels regularly with multiple devices. It’s affordable, efficient, and genuinely makes life on the road a lot easier.
