Funny old brain...
I bought this having never tried it before. I love cocoa and I love coffee. Sadly the former plays havoc with me and the latter, even decaf, affects me. I read the reviews for carob powder, I thought I'd give it a go. Opened the packet - doesn't smell much like cocoa, but interesting enough. It looks the part too. Used a teaspoon to make a drink with double cream. I was quite disappointed (but not really surprised) - it doesn't taste like cocoa and it's got a bit of a twang to the flavour, still, not actually bad but don't know if I'll stick with it. The next day I tried again with half a teaspoon (I don't sweeten drinks and this is no exception). Blimey! I love it. Somehow over night my brain has managed to convince itself that this is cocoa. To me now, a couple of days in, it tastes just right, perfect. And unlike with the other two drinks I mentioned it's completely neutral as far as my body is concerned, if anything my stomach seems more at ease, maybe that's just my imagination. I'm enjoying this so much, will be buying this one again and am very happy to find something delicious that doesn't give me side effects.

Good substitute for chocolate
Takes getting used to but lovely in milk. I can't have chocolate because of reflux - this helps.

Rich and delicious in taste, use sparingly
A friend of mine introduced me to this chocolate alternative and I have found it to be a fantastic and nutritional replacement for cocoa. You can add it to cereal, milkshakes, puddings and create many wonderful treats with it. You don't need to use too much or else you may find it overpowering. By mixing it with a little blackstrap molasses, dried or fresh fruit for example will allow the taste to be more like chocolate as you will find it sweeter :) If you have a blender, juicer, whisker or nutribullet type kitchen appliance, then add it to your smoothies and juices to give it a chocolatey taste and texture. Healthy, good for muscles and joints and not as addictive as cocoa by far.

GOOD CAROB POWDER
Lovely product after tasting put in another order. Have used carob in both powder and liquid form and find it great replacing sugar especially in yoghurt. This powder form is very tasty and goes a long way. Would recommend.

Hot choc and healthy choc milkshake alternative
It takes a second cup to get used to it. Play around with amounts to get it right but once you do it’s a perfect sub to cacao and very tasty. Ive stopped using cacao as the caffeine affects me too much. As carob is caffeine free it’s a perfect alternative. To make hot choccie i mix 1 tsp carob with a cup of hot milk, a touch of honey and a pinch of salt. *highly recommend making a healthy choc milkshake with 1 frozen banana, milk, 1 heaped tsp of carob, 1 tbsp peanut butter and some ice - you can thank me later. :)

Mellow and versatile
Other carob products I have tasted have been rather too bitter, flavoured with other ingredients or roasted. For me, Indigo Herbs organic carob powder has a sweeter taste compared to other carobs I have had. I love the taste of Indigo Herbs carob powder when mixed with organic virgin coconut oil to make a mellow and satisfying chocolate spread; added to milk to make a great hot chocolate without sugar and also blended with avocado to produce a chocolate mousse.

This wouldn’t thicken liquid
I bought these for hoping to thicken liquid drinks for my disabled son. This couldn’t do that. But it smells lovely. Also this has the worst zip closure. It can’t be sealed properly.
