Is this good for laying and tucking carpets?

I wouldn't say so, Vinoir. When laying carpets, I understand a tool is required that is shaped similar to this but you'll need to use your knee. I'm afraid that the metal protruding part of the handle will be the first to hit your knee. Also, this is a bolster chisel and wields a sharp edge, potentially causing damage to the carpet depending on the type. I would opt for a specific carpet laying tool to minimise any risk of damage to the carpet, or your knee! Hope this helps.

Is it good for tile removal?

Good bolster and good for a diyer..took wall tiles off and used to cut some blocks for garden wall.
