Good value
Surprisingly nice block plane for the money. Arrived with a flat sole and nearly ready to go sharp iron . Throat adjustment works well, smooth depth adjustment, cap tightens well, hefty and well finished overall. Castings are smooth and paint well done. Adjustment screws are good quality . Hard to go wrong at this price.

Great knife straight from the mill and solid for the money
Solid body, simple design. Almost too simple as there's not lateral adjustment so i'm having a hard time getting the blade perfectly square to the base. However, the depth adjustment is solid, runs smooth so easy to make fine adjustments. The blade was almost perfectly flat and bevel 25 deg from the mill, only took me 5 minutes to flatten, set a new bevel & hone. 10 minutes to get it cutting great. Normally would be 4 stars due to lack of lateral adjuster, but for the price, have to give 5-stars.

A very well designed and machined plane. Equal to some pricy ones .
I bought this plane a few weeks ago. Starting right from unpacking everything was a pleasant surprise because this thing is very low priced but the quality is very impressive. Going through the set up process was very quick because I really go a good one. The sides were dead square to the bottom. The bottom plane surface took just a few minutes to get it flat. The blade was a big surprise ! When checking for flat it was hollowed just like a Japanese chisel. That was pure luck. Sharpening took just a reasonable time and I was able to put the best razor edge I've done to date. After reassembly and getting the blade right, it planed beautifully. Really good fit in my hand, super comfortable. Nice weight. Bottom line, this is a terrific buy ! They nailed it with this one same as the mini plane. It's a gem too. After set up these easily perform as well as th much higher priced planes, and I have a few of those.

Great starter: happy with the purchase
After honing and sharpening the blades, these planes became a joy to use. The low-angle block plane works especially wellโI pull it out almost daily for quick cleanup and fitting jobs. I've always been more of a power tool guy, but I can definitely see why so many woodworkers enjoy using hand tools. For around $100, this three-plane set offers a lot of value. It's hard to justify spending three times as much on premium brands for the kind of work these handle. I'm not sure how much use I'll get out of the mini plane, but it's a fun little addition and seems to work just fine.

Great tool for the money.
I have a lie Nielsen block plane in my home shop. I needed one while away from home and picked this one up. Works great, came sharp enough. Added bonus, it was way cheaper than the LN plane. I was very surprised at how well made it was.

Much better than youโd expect. Certainly better than the Stanley for the same money.
Excellent small block plane. Well presented in its box, shipped nicely oiled. You could use it as is - there was a pronounced burr on the blade, but it would have worked - but I never expect an ended tool to come perfectly set. Five minutes honing the bevel to remove the tool marks (the back of the blade came with the merest hollow behind the cutting edge, Iโll take that). The sole was usably flat, again, a couple minutes on a diamond plate, registered nicely behind the mouth and at the heel. The blade is hard, keeps a good edge. Much thicker than the Stanley 60 1/2 itโs based on. After setup, wispy edge grain shavings from maple, finely set, cleans up end grain well with no chatter. There is no lateral adjustment incorporated in the blade advance screw, so itโs a case of slack the cap iron slightly, advance the blade and sight down the sole. Easy. The blade beds well with the frog, and is securely held when snugged up. Well worth the price

You will enjoy the Jorgensen planes, they are well made and a pleasure to use!
The Jorgensen planes are mid-priced planes with above level performance. They all have a nice heft for following through on a cut. I like the knurled adjustment knobs, all the machining is very smooth. The palm rest on top is large and very comfortable. I had only to do a final honing with an Arkansas stone to get it to a nice cut.

Ready to go out of the box!
What an improvement over my old hand planer. Out of the box I could tell this was much better than my old stuff. The blade is super sharp and it is easy to adjust. So glad I purchase it.

Good little block plane.
I've seen video reviews for this little block plane, after I bought mine, that pick nits. Sure, it's probably not as good as a Veritas or Stanley, but for me, it does the jobs that I need, quite nicely. Was even sharp and ready to go when it arrived, and I've finally learned how to sharpen the blade properly (something that kept me from buying a plane for a long time). I liked this one so much I also bought the Jorgensen #4 smoothing plane (but from another retailer at ยฝ the cost that it was listed on Amazon). It's also pretty darn good once you get it dialed in, at least for a novice.
