The first supercarriers?
Nice history of the development and operation of the three Midway class carriers. USS Midway commissioned within days of the war against Japan ending and saw continuous service for decades including taking part in the first Gulf War in 1991. She is preserved as a museum ship in California. Really good read with plenty of photographs and illustrations. Highly recommended.

Los libros de Osprey son imprescindibles
Como siempre, los libros de cualquier serie de Osprey son imprescindibles para hacerse una primera idea de una campaña o un sistema de armas. Yo tengo varios centenares.Este volumen responde perfectamente a esa idea. Sirve perfectamente para conocer esa clase de portaaviones que hizo de puente entre los Essex y los superportaaviones posteriores. Se perdió la IIGM, peto lucho en Corea y Vietnam y consolidó innovaciones como la pista oblicua que les permitieron operar reactores.

The history of the Midway Class Carriers
A nice addition to Osprey's Series on US Navy aircraft Carrier designs. The final issue of well written books dealing with each Class of post-World War Two Carriers. Would have given a five-star rating if all of thevarious flight deck configurations were depicted with overhead artwork. None the less, an excellent book.

Interesting book lon an often overlooked subject
This is a great kintroduction to the Midway-Class aircraft carriers. It pretty much follows the standard format of this series but with many well-chosen images and drawings. An interesting, if small volume to be sure.
