This light box is simple to install, and the light quality is brilliant.I have a 280 litre aquarium with glass top.This light is more than enough for this.Also the fact it’s RGB my algae problem has been greatly reduced.I found that setting the moonlight to a purple colour, stoped the algae from forming everywhere.The timer is a simple setup, fits on its legs over the top of your tank, looks great, and the fact it can get wet makes it durable to most events.

Good quality built. Just started using it. Love the sunrise and moon light mode. Takes a couple of minutes to figure out how to use it really bright .

I've not had this unit long so it's early days in terms of build quality and longevity so I'll edit this review if I experience any early failure disappointments.First impressions are that this is a good light but seriously flawed due to overly complicated user-definable control options.The basic 'out of the box' operating cycle is great but the default max light output is very high and quickly caused a huge filamentous algae explosion in my nano tank. Unfortunately there doesn't appear to be a simple light output reduction option. I'd love to be able keep the default lighting cycle but reduce the Max overall lamp output via a simple single button. This light output control is a basic function offered on most budget aquarium lamps, but alas not this one!! Instead you have to setup a series of complex DIY timing and brightness phases to set your own bespoke 24 hr profile with differing light colour and intensity. It's ridiculously complex just to set your own lower light outputs. Come on Hygger - deal with this. A simple light output adjustment alongside the default timer cycle would be so easy include!!!

Looks good on my aquarium and really easy to use. All you have to do is set the time and it has a default timer that turns itself on, dims the white light, switches to the blue light and turns itself off. You can adjust all these settings but the default has worked fine for me.The extendable legs make it fit really easily.

This light is great value for money.It is very bright when set to 100%.The biggest downside to me is its timer/programmer. it is a pig to initially set up, which is why i gave it 4 stars and not 5. When you are used to it, it makes sense, but initially it is a pain.The colour spectrum is good and seems to be good for plants and fish.Its waterproof.If you can fight your way through the set up, its value for money is great compared to, say, the Fluval 3 light. This one is £65ish, the corresponding sized Fluval one is £300ish. A big difference.

The media could not be loaded. Fitted this to a newly set up tank running c02 and the results have been fab. You can set the program timer to do what you like with various timer and brightness options but the timer can be awkward to manually set up. It has two settings an auto setting that is easily set but the 12 hour program is to long for my tank setup and would promote algae.Or the manual setting where you have to turn off the auto setting and then set up the manual program for the times you require.You tube videos may well be your friend here.The lamp runs hot to the touch set at 100 percent output but no more than any other bright led lamp I have owned. Also it will lose its timer settings if it is powered off. Not great if you have a power failure and you are not around to re program.And again reprogramming is a bit of a pain if you lose power. But ok once you have wrapped your head around it.The buttons on the unit are the touch type and can easily be accidentally touched while dusting. Causing a change to your on off setting. Also not great.The led display for the timer is an always lit affair. Giving off a faint glow at all hours. Not an issue for me but worth mentioning if its is in a bedroom etc.I was preparing to buy 2 of theese lights as the tank is 29 inches deep and I figured it may not have the light output but one has been ample.If they ever release a version with app controll I would buy immediately.I can't comment on longevity as I have only had the lamp 4 months but in that time the results have been great. Will update here should any issues arise.If the unit failed at this price I would buy again immediately even with it's quirky timer as the plant growth has been fantastic.My short video shows after I have just chopped out alot of plant during an underwater gardening session. Over all very happy with led unit at a bargain price. Just hurry up and bring out an app controlled based unit Hygger.
