Learn all about Holi, the Indian Festival of Colors, in this lush picture book from bestselling mother/son duo Surishtha Sehgal and Kabir Sehgal with illustrations by Caldecott Medalist Vashti Harrison. Spring is here, and it’s almost time for Holi, the Indian Festival of Colors. Siblings Mintoo and Chintoo are busy gathering flowers to make into colorful powders to toss during the festival. And when at last the big day comes, they gather with their friends, family, and neighbors for a vibrant celebration of fresh starts, friendship, forgiveness, and, of course, fun! Review: A must have for Indian kids - This is a true favorite for my child, and several of her friends. It's become one of our go-to gifts for Indian and biracial families. The illustrations are beautiful, story is simple, relatable, and interesting. I credit this book for being a big reason that my daughter chants "Holi Hai!" all year and is SO excited when the festival truly comes around Review: One of our favorites - I love the color and the culture that this book creates.

Vibrant colors and illustrations!
I wanted to familiarize my toddler with the various Hindu festivals, and this book was a great start! Simple, easy stories, cute illustrations in bright and vibrant colors, and in a board book format. It’s one of her favorite books, and I will definitely be looking to buy more!

Super cute, easy to read, accessible.
I love this book! I love how it talks about which flowers they use to make the different powders, and how the simple color-by-color approach makes it accessible to younger children as well as informative for older ones. Clean illustrations, simple text, and a beautiful intro to the lovely festival that is Holi.

My kids are second generation Indian and wanted nice but yet simple books to explain our costums. This book did it very nicely. My kids enjoy the book and the story to go with it. My kids are 2 and 4 this book is perfect for thier age group, explains Holi in just enough detail for their age.
