This battery comes securely boxed with installation tools and fitting instructions. Replacing an A1493/A1582 MacBook battery isn't difficult but it is a fiddly job that requires careful attention and a prior knowledge of exactly what to do and what not to do. If you're not fully confident in your ability to replace your old battery without damaging your MacBook and/or new battery in the process, it's a good idea to watch a video tutorial before you embark on the job. Make sure the tutorial shows your exact model of MacBook, then pay close attention to the locations of all screws that need removing, and take heed of other do's/don'ts mentioned along the way.The battery is newly installed and working perfectly. The biggest test of a laptop battery isn't how it performs when new, but how well it maintains its efficiency throughout hundreds (or thousands) of charging and discharging cycles, in other words during long-term use. I don't yet have that data for this particular battery. For now its performance is exceptional. If that changes over the next year or so, I'll amend this review accordingly.At the current price of £47.68, this product is excellent value for money. You could pay twice as much (or more) for a comparable battery with fitting kit, purchased from a website specialising in laptop batteries.
