This is a gorgeous book, meticulously and lovingly shot with an artistic eye. Every photo is framed and captured beautifully. Christine explores stories of Portuguese craft, embroidery, pottery, ceramics, flora and architecture through a lush visual lens thats transports you there. A perfect companion to her other book - Patterns of India. And I hope this series grows!

This books covers all the magical aspects of Portugal. I fell in love with the country - the tiles, pottery, trams, color, food, people, countryside, all of it. And this book captures all the wonderful aspects of the country very well. This book is now on my coffee table, and I leaf through it whenever I need to be transported back to that magical land. A must buy for people have you been to Portugal and who wish to one day!

I was looking for a book about Portugal that showed/explained the local Architecture. I found what I was looking for. Thank you. Fabulous pictures and very well written descriptions. I couldn’t put it down and feel as though I just returned from Portugal!

Patterns of Portugal is a total delight. Reading it transported me completely to a place I have never been and now very much want to go. Through stunning photos and beautifully written text I lived, ever so briefly amongst olive groves, tinged with afternoon light and walked past vividly patterned buildings, one more beautiful than the next. Christine's passion for the rich history of craft and culture is palpable throughout. I highly recommend this gorgeous jewel of a book.

This was a gift to my daughter who was going to Portugal. It is a beautiful book and she thought it was wonderful, as well as a way to get prepared for her trip (which she has since completed). She thought the book was very representative of the tiles she was able to see in Portugal, for which it is known.

Loved the photographs. Four stars because it could have used more text, and many of the photos were not identified as to where they were taken. But a beautiful book. Am glad I bought it.
