The Coming Alive to the answer of the question: Who Am I?
In all the experiences I have had growing up (infant, toddler, youth, manhood, retirement) it took most of my life to comeexperience that, that which most people refer to as GOD is not only OTHER, but is also within ME.If you were to attempt to explain how this could be, the OCEAN is an understandable metaphor.Attempt to imagine that everything that has ever has existed or will come into existence is the OCEAN.That makes the OCEAN not just unique but the only BE ING.Surely that makes OCEAN , OTHER than everything that ever existed or will come to exist.Yet, that which makes up the OCEAN is everything that ever existed or will come to exist.I AM a WAVE. You are a WAVE. Everything that ever existed or will come to exist is a WAVE.The OCEAN is recognized by not only it huge size, but also by the WAVES that come an go over and over and over.Although no two WAVES are identical to the OCEAN they are all united, each no different than the other.

New favorite to give away...
I love Jim Carey anyway - he sends good things into the world and shifts deeper thinking, usually via the power of a giggle. This may be a children's book, but its significance ripples warmly to all ages. The illustrations by Rob Nason are lively and fantastic, they translate seamlessly with the same richness of Mr Carey's voice, which carries itself unmistakably through the entire wonderful book. As a member of the human race, (but no psycho or theological specialist of any kind..), I would earnestly recommend this for anyone facing a knothole or enduring loss... children included. It's such a lovely perspective, sweetly told, it could do nothing but comfort. Whatever your age - grab this one. You'll find that you'll order a second because there will always be one that you'll lend to your friends. Thumbs up, Mr C - This really matters.

Loving it!
Jim Carrey is just a beautiful complex talented soul I so admire this man's talent. This book is just the embodiment of Jim himself. I really enjoyed it and look forward to sharing it with my grandchildren.

Different
I could see where a child might actually be scared by this book. Some of the words and pictures are a reach for kid to process I think. I think the quality of the pics is wonderful and creative and bright and the story line is good too - a bit 'deep' for young kids, but then again, that depends on the kid. All in all though, a great book - even if all you do is look at the pictures! I could tell my 4 year old grandson was focusing on the pictures far more than the words, but when he did comment on the story he seemed to be concerned. I prefer our story time to be fun. I know Mr. Carrey can be extremely funny so I hope he focuses on that for his next book. :)

Wonderful story for all ages
Jim Carrey is a wizard and proves it here with this wonderful story about Roland and what makes him tick. It's a simple story with powerful meaning. Roland is afraid he's only a lowly wave and that when he reaches the beach, his life will be over. But he soon realizes he's not just a wave but the entire ocean, and with that knowledge it's also clear to Roland he has a very big job to do.The world is interconnected and the ocean is a huge part of it. Thank you Jim for a wonderful adventure. I actually purchased this book as a gift for my mom's birthday and I know she's going to love the story and the wonderful illustrations. She's 89!

Definitely a collectors item for Jim Carrey fans
Beautiful vividly colorful pictures with top grade paper where children want to touch it (adults too) . Short story with hidden messages that can be elaborated by parents reading it to their children of all ages. Very positive story and uplifting plot. Can tell a lot of love and thought went into the creating, drawing, and publishing of this book. Glad to see Jim Carrey not forgetting the children with his fame. This shows another side of Jim Carrey a very talented person. Very pleased with book for my Grandson. Might buy one just for me as a collectors item. Of course I am a Jim Carrey fan.

Meh, it's a book and it rhymes.
Just an okay book. It has a nice message about how we're all part of something bigger than ourselves, and you could easily interpret it in whichever way aligns with your personal beliefs. It's just not executed terribly well. The illustrations are blah, and the writing is kind of uninteresting.
