If you already know how to play a keyboard instrument you'll pick this right up
Melodicas are a great instrument for noodling around, and this particular one will suit a musician well for a very reasonable price.I found the tone was very pleasing and dynamic. Unlike some reviewers I did not find it difficult to play two or three note chords. While the hand strap is a little tight (my hands are medium size; forget it if you have large hands!), the instrument is easy to carry and play. The two "snorkel" mouthpieces make it easy to lay this melodica on a table and experiment, and the two different short mouthpieces allow the traditional playing position.This instrument does have a moisture release key (a.k.a. "spit valve"), and I found the intonation to be well tempered and generally accurate.At under 50, this is a good value!
