Great light if you can get it on sale!
Got this light on sale for $58, which was a great deal! Haven't ridden extensively in the dark dark yet due to being effectively the summer solstice currently, but I will update with my experiences once it's darker in the mornings.Of note, even with a large fan blowing on the light to try to cool it, when on the high setting for the high beam, the light gets hot enough that I don't want to hold onto it and it reports in the app that it's at 60C temperature. This may contribute to the light output falling off quickly over time in this mode that some reviewers report. On the high setting for just the low beam it sits in the 35-40C temperature range with a fan blowing over it which is a more reasonable temperature for LED output health. The beam cutoff is good and it gives a nice wide swath of light, but I do not like any of the flashing modes and they aren't very customizable. The battery life quoted for the flash modes is poor and the instructions and app interface to customize the flash modes is extremely confusing. I've resorted to running the high beam at 10% output as a daytime running light instead of trying to mess with the flash modes, hoping it'll get somewhere around 10 hours of useful runtime like this. The app's battery level reporting is not very granular. Mine seems to show 100%, then 50%, then 20%, and there's no reporting of runtime remaining, which is annoying since you can easily adjust the brightness levels which will dramatically change the runtime compared to the stock light output levels where Magicshine give runtime estimates. The button LED which indicates charge level is similarly not granular, when the app reports 50% battery the button LED is red.Overall, I think this is the best light for the money, but it's definitely not the best light.

Bright Lights
The Magicshine evo 1700 is a great bike light. Easy to install and set up. The design that allows it to mount underneath bike computer mounts (GoPro style), creating a clean and uncluttered cockpit. It's also easy to remove and install. The system is easy to set up. Be prepared the light gets very hot in the brightest mode. on the brightest setting the battery life is not great.I got it during prime day and its a great bang for buck. The build quality is great and I recommend it.

Very bright
very bright light that looks good. Has a low medium and high power low beam as well as a low medium and high power high beam. It does have a light cut off so you’re not blinding other drivers or bicyclist.

Good design - I like it.
The upside-down mount and small size is excellent if you want to mount it under the computer without it banging into the stem. No other light seems to work as well. The light is bright too and the included remote works nicely. Happy I found one that works.

Great light, weak mount
Just purchased a second one. I love the style and build quality of the light which has a metal case. I am using a dual mount so that my computer is on top and the light hangs below freeing up my handlebars. (I am able to reach the light and so I am not using the remote.) The plastic fitting that connects to the top of the light needs improvement and eventually wore out. Hopefully, this second one will last longer. There are no other options so once this fitting wears out your light will go flying.

Remote does not work to turn on and off
The remote control for Magicshine EV) 1700 did not work the way I exptected. The light works, but the remote does not work to turn it on or off. The remote works for all of the functions - high beam, low beam, dim, flash, etc. But remote does not work for on and off.I spent a considerable amount of time pairing the bluetooth remote with the light. I made sure batteries were fully charged. I tried new battery in remote. The remote paired, but did not work to turn light on or off.I will return the light. I need to be able to turn ligh on and off with remote.

Got a defect one!
The media could not be loaded. 5/1/24Was so excited to see this as I got the seemee 300 and it blow my mind. Now just got this in the mail. Opened read instructions. Charged it for like a few minutes to test it powers on. Nothing absolutely nothing no led is coming on. Check remote no battery installed which is going to be a pain in the butt hate installing batteries. Just plain lazy a $90 led light with a remote that requires batteries? You would think to make both the remote and the led come usb charged. Then read the instructions and instructions says what is included but doesn’t show battery but in remote instructions it says use battery that comes with package?! And now I looked at the lens it came with a ton of scuffs like it was used. Wow quite disappointed! 1 starUpdate: 5/2/24Review from 1 star to 5 starsSo here comes the 2nd one next day. Wow totally different. It came in plastic wrap unlike the other one. It came dead as once I plugged it in and held the power for about 1-2 seconds it powered on. Not only that the lens were shiny and new. Additionally to that as well the remote even had a battery inside with plastic cover between the remote and the battery. See I knew something wasn’t right. The first one I received was packaged like it was used I couldn’t open the box nicely. The new one everything came out smoothly and quickly not only that I was able to everything not used back in the box. Was able to use the app, pair the remote to the light and mount the adapter onto my bike and also mount the remote with it working. There are 3 cushions sizes to select to mount the remote with a button rubber piece. Make sure remote has battery life, put the cushion under the remote and then strap under the cushion to keep it snug and then wrap it around your bike handle bar. I saw some reviews saying the mount is bad. I’m not too sure yet but it seems sturdy and durable to me. I ride a 31 mph e-bike going 28-30 mph most of the timeand I go over many bumps and bumpy roads as well as dirty roads. I am sure it will survive! 5 stars!
