They aren't weighted but mine are holding 9 inch flameless tapered candles with 2 AA batteries and do not top over.

Q: Will a 3/4 inch wide candle fit? Looking for a Shabbat candle holder

It's .875 inch. Your candle should fit at .75 inches.

Q: Can the top and bottom be unscrewed to be separated?
