The Pathfinder School French Press for Camping

Great french press with one caveat: It's a great french press/boiling pot setup. There are not that many single wall, all metal, french presses available. It doubles as a pot for boiling water or making Ramen. It’s a good size for two people. I’ve only camped with it once so far but it worked just like it should and made great coffee. Here’s the issue that cost it a star: you can NOT fit an IsoButane canister inside!! It is 1mm-2mm too small! I can’t believe they didn’t plan for that. (UPDATE: You CAN fit a 4oz isoButane canister inside this coffee pot. It would be cool if they enlarged the I.D. by 1mm though-then it would fit an 8oz) My percolator fits a small IsoButane canister, a mini stove and the percolator bits (except the pipe) all inside. This matters if you are trying to go compact like hiking or bike camping. A good product. Keep in mind that coffee will cool much faster than a double wall, but you can't use a double wall on the stove.

This coffee pot works great. No coatings, just straight stainless steel. We used it for coffee, soups, and drinking water. You can put it directly on the coals. 10/10. It is extremely well made, and durable

We were happily using the Stanley Boil and Brew French press, but it just wasn't big enough for the amount of coffee we usually drink. The Pathfinder makes twice as much coffee. I love that I only need one pot to make coffee (most French presses are insulated and require another pot to boil the water to pour into the press). We usually only use it with a camp stove, but when we forgot the stove on a recent camping trip, we had to use it over the fire. It's not as shiny and pretty anymore, but otherwise it handled the fire without any damage. It's simple to use, simple to clean, and makes the perfect cup (or 2, or 3!) of coffee. I would definitely buy it again, but I don't think I will need to since it's very sturdy. I looked everywhere online for a loooong time, so I'm glad I found what I was looking for.

Well made, really cool french press. Very sturdy. I like the large capacity 1300ml (48 oz). I like the stainless steel. This is great for travel or home use.

This is so great! It fits a normal camp gas container and it’s components. We’ve used it for hiking and camping and love it. Super easy to use. Stainless steel, and really easy to clean. We’ve taken the French press stem apart and used it just for a pot for our hiking stove set up and it works better than the name brand hiking stoves! Coffee grounds didn’t get into our pressed cup when we used it for coffee either. It leaves no aftertaste from the material. Unlike the silicone one we’ve tried.

This has been my go to camping coffee maker. All metal design so it can go on a stove or straight in the fire. Small but still makes enough for two people. Live it!

Best mud around. Use on my camping trips and part of my go box. Would buy again. Easy to clean, sturdy, should last forever

Love the convenience of one pot brewing. Works on magnetic electric stove too. Rinses out easily. It is lightweight for back packing so hope it holds up in my kitchen.

I really enjoy the French press method of making coffee, when I used percolators I could never get the coffee just the way I liked it. Now with this I just boil water then add my grinds and then start a timer for 7 minutes and the coffee is perfect every time. I also enjoy it to use as a pot as it has such a large capacity, you can make oatmeal and soup in it as well, and being stainless steel you can throw it straight on the fire no problem

Lip had a bit or sharp metal I filed down, other than that perfect French press I use almost daily
