good bike for the price; very good customer service
The delays in shipping was frustrating, but once received, the bike was an immediate hit with the early teen. Initially the pedals and front brake pads were missing - and had to contact the CS - the responses from the CS were almost always within 12 hours or so, and the parts arrived as originally promised in the first CS email (need to come from China, expect delays in case you need replacement/missing parts). The bike is easy to assemble (video on the product page is helpful), and rides well, Gear shifting is not very smooth and the seat could be broader or more comfortable - but at this price point, this is a good value. Overall, for the intended use by an early teen - some trails, school camp commute, and general biking - this is a good value.

Defective
The bike took a long time to arrive, but once it did, it was unusable after we put it together. The gear was either bent or improperly installed, resulting in it “catching” itself in the back wheel. The bike is therefore unusable and needs to be returned, which is a huge hassle due to its size. My wife also ordered the same bike, and the brakes snapped after 1 month of use. This product is unacceptable.

Assembly Was a Hassle
Since this bike is a Christmas present for my Grandson and Christmas has not yet arrived I'm assuming the bike will function as designed. Time will tell. However, a word to the wise would be that assembly was a hassle. It is true that the bike only requires "some assembly" if you're like me and not a bicycle mechanic you will most likely find the assembly difficult.Attaching the front wheel, pedals, handlebars, and seat is fairly straightforward. The real issues begin when you have to adjust the brakes, front and rear. Out of the box they are attached to the bike but not adjusted to be any where near correct. I struggled for over two hours trying to get the brakes and could not do it even though I consider my DIY skills to be far above average. The manual and the 3 minute video was useless to me. I finally took the bike to the local bike shop and for $25 they made all of the adjustments to get the bike useable. Here's what had to be done to correctly assemble the bike:1. Lubricate everything where metal to metal contact is being made.> Seat post > Handlebar insertion point > Pedals (grease for the pedals is actually suggested by the manufacturer.2. You cannot get the brakes correct unless the front and rear wheels are centered on the axles.> the mechanic had to adjust all of the spokes on both the wheels in order to get this right. Special tool required to get this done not to mention a fair bit of experience.3. During the painting process paint got on the stud used to mount the rear brake assembly. This had to be removed with emery cloth and lubricated with a dab of grease in order to make the brake adjustment process easier.4. The derailer needed adjustment. For the mechanic it was a snap. For me, it was impossible. Imagine trying to adjust the transmission on your vehicle. Not for the faint of heart. As I mentioned in the beginning, I'm fairly confident, based on usage reviews, that the bike will be a good starter bike for my Grandson. However, unless you're knowledgeable regarding the intricacies' of derailers and caliper brakes, do yourself a big favor and take the bike to a bike shop where, for a fee, they will assemble and tune your new bike for top performance.

Very bad qyality bike, do not waste your money and time.
This Bike is very poor quality. Assembled as per guide, with in 100 meter driving from home with the first change of gear, the rear gear system broken, chain and gear system tangled and stuck in rear tire, bike non drivable. Too bad. Because of the size of the item very hard to return also. So lost entire money.

DO NOT PURCHASE! this bike was received with a bent gear change. I sent it back and re-ordered. The replacement bike was also received with a bent gear change.
