Is the bag the tea comes in recyclable?

There is no interior bag. The exterior, and only, bag is plastic with a metallic-looking interior, and due to its contact with food is not recyclable in most areas even though the tea doesn't leave a deposit on the bag's surface.

This used to be fine cut, perfect for a drip maker. The last bag I bought was loose cut. Is that a permanent change?

I've been drinking this tea for years and all of my purchases have been what I'd consider fine cut. They are not leaves/or stick like at all. I use a French press with a "FINE" screen or else a fine mesh insert when I travel (yes I'm nutty enough to bring my own loose tea on cruises). I've purchased several kilo bags in the last year and all have been consistently fine - perhaps you just got one that was "off". Hope this helps.
