I love this guide because it is compact, sturdy, colorful, waterproof and handy. It's perfect for wandering around a neighborhood park and taking note of some ever present wild plant and recognizing its value.

This was a replace for one that never arrived, it is What I was hoping for, and this will get out into the wilds of Wyoming and see how I can find.

I like that this guide is compact and waterproof. As mentioned in other reviews, the pictures are simple - not detailed. Many of the plants in this guide are pretty common and I already know I can eat them. That said, if you're out in the wilderness, it may be a great reminder of what to look for amongst the many other concerns one might have. This guide also tells you what kind of habit the plant grows in and how to prepare it.

Plants that you would never thought you could eat and survive

These are great little guides to keep around. I purchased a bunch of these (there’s a whole series) as they’re simple and informative. Fun to read with the kids in the tent as we sharpen our wilderness skills. Lightweight and thinly laminated, they should last a few summers no problemo.

Be aware that this contains American produce and is written for an American audience. Many of the foraged foods don't grow in the UK.

I found this item very useful when foraging in the bush. The guide is easy to slide from a pocket when needed. It does reference the more common edibles. Somewhat water resistant thus the 5 stars.

Compact, very useable as far as foraging is concerned and while some plants have good explanations to explain processing, others are very lacking. Used in conjunction with other learned procedure will benefit the outdoors wanderer.
