Works great for training
So far so good! I’m using this as a tool to assist in Agility training. I’m working with my poodle to learn to continue on thru obstacles, moving away from me. It’s really helping! I place the treat & train at the end of the run of obstacles, and can dispense treats when she completes the task. Also, she was starting to become obsessed with my hands (as treat holders and dispensers), and when I attempted to toss treats to the ground or floor to avoid that, the treats just bounced away and it would take her forever to find them. We’d loose momentum and focus. The treat and train dispenses them perfectly, and we’re off to repeat the exercise. Our trainer strongly recommended this as a tool months ago, but I didn’t want to spend the $. I read a bunch of reviews about it being unreliable, etc. So far, its working like a charm; I took the treat size disk with me to the store to ensure I only bought treats that fit well and won’t jam (and keep them aside just for this use). Before that, I simply used kibble. Doesn’t seem to matter to her if it’s kibble or treats. So, I may not bother with the special-size treats once these run out.I take good care of it and it’s only used in training sessions, so expect it to hold up.Also, I looked around a bit and found Amazon had the best price at the time.

Great product. Hunt around for this version
I'm really happy with the Treat and Train. First of all, the four D cell batteries -- which you'll need to purchase separately -- last f-o-r-e-v-e-r. I've had the same batteries in for weeks and the machine is still going strong, even with using it over an hour a day, set at different dispense rates. Incidentally, the wheel for small sized kibble is super small. It got jammed when I tried to use it with Cheerios. Rather than switch the wheels back and forth, I now just use the large size wheel for both the Cheerio snacks and for my dog's toy-dog size kibble. A few pieces of kibble come out at a time, but that is okay.

Great way to train and treat your dog from a distance.
I just received my order, it arrived in good condition, despite being shipped in it's own box, and not inside a shipping box. The treat & train was easy to add the batteries too (which I new to order with it from other reviews) and start it right up. I followed instructions to get my dog comfortable with the noise of the motor and gears and learn when the machine beeped to look for a treat. I took 1 star off because it did not feed the treats through in a nice consistent time, but I may not have found the right size and consistency treats to use it. I am excited to see how helpful this will be in some of my agility training.

Excellent tool for dog training
Update after some use. If you are using the down stay often, be prepared for the batteries to run out quickly! I bought some rechargeables!I have trained dogs for many years, but mostly I’m not one to use props or tools. But this one is an exception. So many times I need to reward my dog where he is, without returning to him. I teach classes, and my younger dog tends to whine softly in his crate while I’m teaching. I find it annoying, but going back and tapping on his crate just rewards him with my presence. After watching a webinar on FOMO (fear of missing out), I decided to buy myself a Treat and Train for Christmas.I set it up and tested it first, and it worked perfectly. The kibble I use in it is small, so it occasionally deliverstwo bits instead of only one, but that’s fine. One dog thought the idea was to try to get the kibble out, but that was easily extinguished just by waiting for calm moments and pushing the remote then. The paired tone will be super useful when I use it for agility, so it will mark the moment I want to reward even if the unit isn’t next to them.I will be using this to train agility and platform stays and probably more. I highly recommend this unit. Worth the cost!

Does not connect to wifi
…way too expensive device to not be able to use remotely for separation anxiety. Can only use when in another room in the house. Defeats the purpose of remote use

Great training device
Getting a dog or puppy use to how it works and what it offers is a great training tool for rewarding areas/ places you can't get to on time to reward. Great for reinforcing distance work.
