DP-3000NE is superbly made with great adjustments, but it's completely manual
The DP-3000NE is a wonderful turntable, but it's not as convenient as a fully automatic turntable. If you like not having to worry about being out of the room or falling asleep when a record reaches the end, then a turntable with automatic return is a better match for you. Honestly, I miss it. That said, the DP-3000NE is incredibly impressive. After I bought it and before I got it, I was starting to regret spending the money. Then...it showed up, and all of that went away. This thing is shockingly robust. It's HEAVY. At about 40 pounds, it's not something that most people will move around with ease. Given that weight, it's no surprise that the isolating feet are pretty amazing. The dust cover is incredibly nice. Actually, everything is. There's nothing about this that doesn't impress me. There are remarks on the internet about it being made in China implying that it isn't as nice as it would have been if it were made in Japan, and maybe that's true, but I can't see or feel anything about it that isn't top notch. A couple of things to note, perhaps especially for those of you like me that either haven't used a turntable in years or perhaps are just starting: (*) The DP-3000NE does not come with a cartridge, so you'll need to account for the extra expense if you don't have one (*) I didn't do enough research and bought a Denon cartridge, and those happen to all be (as far as I can tell) moving coil (MC) cartridges. Most electronics with built-in phono stages, including my Denon receiver, are made for higher-output moving magnet (MM) cartridges. So, make sure that you're electronics are compatible with the cartridge that you buy, or plan on another additional expense of a phono preamp (or, if you prefer, a step up transformer). The skies the limit on the cost of those things, but if you're buying this turntable, you're probably going to be in the ~$500 range if you want to use a MC cartridge Although it does not come with a cartridge, it does come with the headshell and different sized screws to mount different cartridges. The adjustments are pretty impressive. You have your typical counterweight and anti-skate adjustments, as well as a less typical tonearm height adjustment. They are all smooth and easy to adjust. It's honestly a pleasure to move the pieces around because of how smooth everything is. So, yeah, for around $2500 (depending on sales) you'd expect a quality product - and you get it with the DP-3000NE. Although I miss the automatic functions, I knew going in that this didn't have those, so I won't knock it for not having those. For a manual turntable, I'm very happy with this!

A beautiful flagship turntable that is so easy to use and sounds fantastic
This turntable looks way better in real life than in photos. Real ebony wood veneer with fingerprint resistance matte finish is exquisite. Sound quality is superb with a smooth three dimensional life like quality. A direct drive motor lends to accuracy and clarity of musical detail. Craftsmanship is apparent with its hefty 40 lbs. of weight. This piece of hi-fi gear represents a great value for the money based on the excellent build quality alone and will likely last for many years of use. Push button controls, instant start and stop, swappable headshell, and on the fly VTA adjustments has shifted my own listening preferences to now mostly vinyl as opposed to CD, SACD, DVD-Audio, Dolby Atmos Music and HiRes Streaming. Denon DP-3000NE comes with a very easy to use overhang gauge for mounting cartridges. I found that having a variety of phono cartridges pre-mounted on headshells adds to the fun in being able to so easily change the sound of records. I've particularly enjoyed listening to Denon DL-103R, AT 33ptg/ii, AT VM95SH, Ortofon Super OM30, Grado Platinum 3 and Hana ML phono cartridges mounted on this turntable. Since owning this turntable I have discovered more nuances, textures and complexities in my vinyl collection. These details I have previously never heard before makes listening to music even more enjoyable.

High quality turntable for the price
Three things I like very much about this turntable. First is the sturdy construction of the plinth and platter. Heavy weight and solid to decrease vibration transmission. Second, the torque and speed accuracy of the direct drive system - there is just no doubt about the platter constantly turning at the correct speed. And third, the tonearm - it floats so freely. It takes a bit of patience to dial in the balance, but then the VTF is spot on and the stylus tracks the grooves beautifully. I like this direct drive turntable just as much as a much higher priced belt drive turntable that I own.

A great turntable, and a huge jump from the low priced options at a reasonable price.
I wanted to get into some higher end components without breaking the bank. This turntable is really well built, and the sound is just amazing. Make sure you read the description, as this does not come with a cartridge. I paired it with the Ortofon 2M Black LVB and through a Cambridge preamp. The soundstage is just incredible…so much more than my old setup.

Better than a SL-1200GR2
If you’re hesitant in this turntable, don’t be it’s amazing. I’ve had them all and this thing blows away the SL-1200GR2 and competes with the $4300 Sl-1200G! Used a AT-OC9SL and it sings!

Marketing Is King- and this is absurd
I grew up in the 1970s and was the child of audiophiles. When I look at how much advantage is being taken of millennials who have decided to get back into the vinyl experience (yay!) it makes me sick. Yes, there is a substantial difference between a quality record player and one that’s not. But paying over $2000 to listen to vinyl- compared to something you can get for a couple of hundred dollars- is the height of insanity. At this price, at least they could put a Gucci label on it or something like that in order to rationalize the expense. Like I said, I recognize there is absolutely a difference in quality when listening to vinyl. But I don’t believe even an alien race that can hear soundwaves both below and above ours, at a hypothetical 100x processing ability, would be able to rationalize the price of this player. If I had only known people would fall for this garbage, I would’ve gotten in on the ground floor, but even though I’m a nobody on the Internet I will tell you- I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night selling something this expensive. If you want to show off, go ahead. If you want to listen to quality vinyl, you can get something about 20% the cost of this and never recognize the difference. BTW- please don’t forget that speakers make a world of difference… God bless marketing.
