The packaging said white miso and it looked white when it arrived but while stored in my cool dry pantry unopened, it darkened and looked more like red miso. See the pic of the unopened package of darkened miso. The flavor was still mild like white miso tho. I was worried that my sauce for my Garlicky Miso Shrimp Scampi would get too dark but happily it was the same light golden color that white miso imparts. See pic of recipe. Great taste and mixed well to make a great sauce. Really pleased with how this worked. Not pleased with the color change but the quality is still great.

Great product - worked well. I use it in homemade salad dressings. Yum!

Add this to instant ramen and your all set.

Good miso paste. I gave it 4 stars for packaging. Once opened I had to put it in a different container for storage in my refrigerator. Great miso flavor. I use it in my rice maker and when cooking any type of noodles.

This is high-quality miso paste, even though it isn't made in Japan. I use it for miso soup and other miso-based soups, as well as for miso-glazed halibut and miso-cured egg yolks — it works perfectly in any dish.

I do not recommend this product because it doesn’t look anything that is presented, it’s very much a dark caramel color, which makes me wonder about the freshness and how long it’s been sitting before the oxidation occurred or maybe it didn’t, but certainly gives question as to how or why this happened. The packaging in plastic is the another major drawback, as it’s worst. It appears there’s no right way to open or seal and it only remains standing up on its side which is very inconvenient. Presentation, Color, and Promotional Appearance are all below my expectations and unacceptable.

My first time to use miso in my hot pot, and after reading ingredients I decided to try it for Flavor. Sodium content is minimal for me,

I haven’t eaten it because I’m not sure if it’s good. It looks a creamy yellow in the picture and what I received is a brownish look. I’ve never used it before I ordered it for a recipe. Thank You!
