good 2g phone (using it as audio player while commuting)
cute little phone. if, like me, you grew up in the "2g phones with buttons" generation, then you are still attracted to these tiny pieces. actually, i looked around and wanted a simple phone that i can use as an mp3 player. i have an ipod 6th gen with lots of hdd space built in. i have ipod nano. but i didn't want the attention that come with carrying those devices. and i didn't want to waste the meager battery on my 5g phone. so, i looked Around, found a few android daps... but didn't feel like having them (tip: they are ugly)... ended up finding this thing (for less than 1500, if i remember it right)... so i got it. haven't tried the phone functionality, as i don't have a 2g sim anymore. but the rest of the functionality is good. somewhere (some spec site) i got to know that the phone supports 32gb max. so i got myself a 32gb card. then, i wondered why that would be - why the limitation!!?? so i inserted a 128gb card and voila... after a quick formatting inside the phone, the card gets recognized as 119gb card. i will check the stability of whether the phone can handle such a huge card well (file corruption, etc). but i am assuming no such things should happen. 2 cons i have noticed: 1. doesn't have bluetooth (knew it at the time of buying, but, would have really appreciated if the phone supported bluetooth) 2. doesn't have audio in/out via its usb-c port; that port is only for charging 3. i wanted it in black, but that wasn't available, so i bought it in blue (decent color, but catches attention) i am NOT expecting any "software updates" for this one. this may prove a good phone for old people if they still have 2g sim.
