Blades are very thick
Bought this item because I wanted a second blade for a Stanley No. 4 plane. The new blades look OK, and have a decent edge, but they're almost twice as thick as the blade that came with the plane. They're a full 1/8" thick. I moved frog all the way back and got it in -- barely.

Need lots of work
While the quality of the steel seemed good, I spent about 2 hours removing the grinding marks. Another problem I had was the length of the slot for the cap iron screw. I had to file the slot to make it longer so that I could retract the iron into the mouth on one of my (non Stanley) planes.

Nice blister packed large blades
I had to put some paint thinner on them and sand it off to get the protective coating off the blade after removing from the blister pack, Seem to be manufactured in Japan,Can't beat the price for $5 each,

After tuning, great budget blades
After 40 or so minutes: filing down rough edges, lapping the backside, and putting on a 30° secondary at the sharpening station, I put blade into a $15 garage sale rehab #14 Shelton and was making .001" pine shavings. Probably not as nice as aftermarket Hock and Lee Valley blades, but for half the price and double the blades (and 0.125" thick) I'm pretty happy with the purchase

Will not work on Stanley plane.
I don’t have a beef with the seller but I was disappointed that this plane blade and cap iron will not work with a Bailey style bench plane. With the enlarged hole on the plain iron at the top instead of at the bottom the slot on the iron is not close enough to the cutter edge to allow for adjustment. In addition the cap iron does not have a hole for the lever cap screw so it can’t be used on a Bailey style plane. I have no idea how good the metal is in the plane iron because I never bothered to try sharpening it. I do know that when I assembled the blade and the cap iron the blade showed a very visible bend due to the extreme curve of the cap iron. I would not recommend this plane blade set for a Bailey style plane.

Its a plane blade.
Sharp. Very sharp! Works well when used with a plane. Does not work well chopping onions. It is most effective when used to plane wood because that is what is made for. Performs poorly when used for throwing at a target.

Cheap but needs work
2 blades for this price is amazing but i had to file down alot of burrs and sloppy cuts for them to even fit.
