I travel a lot for business and have always been concerned about hotel doors at night. This product worked as described and I felt very secure. The only concerns I have is sometimes it got stuck in the door and was difficult to remove from some doors. Worked great on most but there were some that I had trouble removing it or installing. The only other concern I had was that it may break off in the door from the stress of pulling if it gets stuck. I did notice the longest part of the bar was bent when removing from doors it was difficult to remove it from. Overall though I would use it just make sure it installs easily.

It broke when I was placing it in the door

We purchased this item before going on a road trip to use in hotels. For the most part, it was great and easy to use. However, we found out it does not fit every kind of door. When it did fit, it was a great design and we have left it in our suitcase so we would have it when we travel. It would also be good for apartments. Easy to setup and take off.

While the item was very sturdy and easy to install, it did not work out. There isn't enough space between the edge of my door and the strike plate which would allow me to insert the claw and close my door. In addition, I have decorative trim around all of my doors so even when the door lock was adjusted [due to the differing surface heights], it would not fit any of my doors. This item was returned.
