Not very heavy. Ideal portable barbecue. Top locked onto base so can be carried by the handle on top

Could anyone tell me how the lid stays level for cooking on both sides ?

The 'lid' rests on the handle so the two parts are at the same level.I have only used the lid to keep cooked things warm using a little lit charcoal.
