First of all I want to thank you all of Amazon buyers who answered my question in the last a couple days before I purchased this item just wanted to make sure it fit my GPS unit. After I got Two answered from Amazon buyers said it should be fit to my garmin drive smart 50 and decided to buy this item. 100% fitted but need a little figured out how to fit it in snug because it larger than factory one here it the photos how I make it fit turn the battery upside down and peel of the old adhesive from the back of the old BAD battery and trim it off a little bit and stick it in to a new battery, placed the battery in place first than plug the wire in last, keep in mind that you need to carefully press and squeeze the wire side with your thumb slowly to make it fit snug as battery is a little bit larger than factory one. After installing my GPS it working like new again. Here is my issued every time I unplug my GPS the unit turn off right away after messages said low battery and sometimes the screen freeze I thought my GPS is broken but it turn out just only bad battery as the unit won’t charge the battery. But if I plug power in it ok to used the GPS but sometimes screen freeze on unplugged. This one has a lot more power than the original factory one as you can see on the image above this battery is rating as 3.7V 1100mAh 4.07Wh while the factory battery rating as 3.7V 570mAh

The battery install was easy but the pry tool provided was inferior. I just installed the battery so am unable to judge its short or long term viability. If you are replacing the factory battery I have a tip. Rather than using some type of double sided tape to secure the new battery and prevent it from rattling around inside the case, carefully remove the layer of sticky tape from the factory battery and apply to the back of the new battery. It comes off fairly easily if you, very slowly, peel the tape from the corners of the old battery. There is plenty of stick left on that tape to make it useful for another few years. Just be very careful NOT to pull the tape so hard that it pierces the old battery wrap. That would not be a good thing. SLOWLY peel!

I thought at first all I needed was a new battery, but after watching a video on YouTube about replacing one of these, realized I needed the kit- like this one. The plastic pry tool and screwdrivers were perfect.The big challenge was in getting the ribbon cable for the screen re-connected. I took my time- that part took me almost ten minutes of working it patiently. But it was worth it.GPS battery now holds a charge. An old GPS now back to life!

Battery wires are 3-4mm too short to plug into the board on my Nuvi 56 in the same configuration as the original. I had to turn the battery over and move the wiring around to allow the plug to reach the receptacle on the board. I also could not remove the ribbon cable with damaging it, but I was still able to move the board around enough and plug in the new battery. It charged quickly and works perfectly. It's too soon to see how long a full charge will hold. I would have easily given this 5 stars if the battery wires had been the right length. I would buy this again. There are You Tube videos which give excellent installation instructions.

The battery is just the right size I needed and it came with the pictured screwdrivers, which are essential.Be forewarned that replacing the battery isn't easy. (Not the fault of the battery seller, just the GPS manufacturer.) After removing the 4 screws it took a lot of work to open the case, because of snaps on the inside. Then I had to remove 2 inner screws to lift up the circuit board. I had a hard time prying the old battery out because it's stuck with very strong sticky tape on the bottom. Then when closing the case I had to close and pry open again 3 times so it would allow the on/off switch to work.Bottom line, I'm really happy with the battery and screwdrivers, I saved a lot of money by replacing the battery instead of buying a new unit.

This is the second battery I purchased, same battery, for my Garmin Nuvi 50. Both batteries failed to hold a charge after about 2 weeks. The device needs to be plugged in to operate more than 3 minutes. I should have learned my lesson after the first purchase.

Battery is fine, but it is too long for the Garmin DriveSmart 55.With a little bit of surgery on the DriveSmart55 interior, cutting off a plastic divider, my partner was able to make it fit for a, "There. I fixed it." moment.

The battery arrived on time. The installation was easy and as described in a video. The screwdriver was adequate, but the plastic pry tool didn't work at all since the Garmin 51 has small snap locks besides the 4 screws. I used the edge of a thin pocketknife and carefully pried it open without a problem. One reviewer suggested carefully peeling the double tape off of the old battery and using it on the new battery which worked well. We will see how it lasts over time. As of now, I would recommend the product.
