The Ling Ting kalimbas are just wonderful. The craftmanship, quality, sound, tone, accessories that come with them, are beyond compare. The wood is always well finished. They are easy to hold. The tines are soft and well aligned. They don't hurt your thumbs. There are NO dead tines. It arrived perfectly tuned. Just love it!

I ordered the Ling Ting kalimba after looking at dozens of other brands on Amazon and with other sellers. I watched many YouTube videos on the best kalimbas, and what features to look for in an electric kalimba. I had a Hugh Tracy kalimba since 1973, which I gave to a friend. That one was made in South Africa, and was excellent. I really needed an electric one, so that I could play with my drum group. I have several effects pedals, and a small amp. My Boss Digital Delay works best so far. I'm experimenting with my looper pedal. This Ling Ting kalimba is excellent. The box is perfect, and beautiful. The keys are all perfect and tuned perfectly. There's many accessories, including a long ¼" cable with one 90° end. 2 adapters for the patch cable included. A little chain with clips can be used for a traditional African buzz sound. The chain is attached to 2 small eye hooks attached to the sides, near the top. Excellent! And it works great also. There are no notes stamped into the tines, but I don't need them, because I play by ear. The notes can be written on the tines with a marker. Other makes have fancy sound holes, and lots of laser etching, but I believe this makes the box weaker, and can lead to cracks. If you have the money, and need more notes, or other features, then spend it. Otherwise, this one is PERFECT for the price. I hope it holds up with occasional use, and doesn't develop any cracks. Cracks can be easily fixed, though.

Such a beautiful instrument...except the tines had a dull gray film. I used the included cloth, but that didn’t work. I read somewhere to use metal polish, but didn’t want to do that. Read somewhere else to use a pen eraser. After nearly an hour erasing the tines and using the cloth, it looks brand new (😶) Hopefully, I won’t hear an eraser is bad for the tines somewhere else.On a high note, perfectly in tune out of the box. A pretty, mellow, full tone. I’ll definitely buy the 34 note by LingTing when funds permit.

This is our first time trying out a Kalimba.I did much research before buying this and am very pleased with our purchase. It’s made beautifully and It came tuned and the sound quality is very pleasant. It came with everything to take good care of it and even has a handbook that contained a couple of songs to learn to get you started.It’s very soothing to just kick back and learn songs .Makes for a nice gift!

The kalimba has a lovely big sound and looks and feels nice in the hand. This is my second lingting kalimba (I also have the solid body, key of C), and I am really impressed by the quality for the price ($42). I don't care about the tassel (it gets in the way) or the tremolo chain (just sounds weird), but the instrument itself and the case are awesome.It is just a few extra dollars to get the version with the pickup, so it seems short-sighted not to. I didn't notice this in the listing, but it even came with the audio cable.I would post a video, but I'd embarrass myself with my playing! ;)

This kalimba is easy to learn.The tines are curve so it doesn't hurt your thumbs.The wood is smooth and glossy NO DEAD TINES! I love this kalimba the sound quality is so beautiful.Ling Ting is the way to go to buy high quality kalimba! You can't go wrong they give u extra accessories which is great.I highly recommend this to all beginners! The kalimba already comes tune which is very helpful for beginners!

Only Con- was Shipping this Kalimba, it shipped from Texas to Oregon, in the manufactures Box, No outer box? No tape to seal the Box the box could be opened very easily. I did receive the package in good shape though, and All contents in in the box was in good shape. Review of LT K17G, this is a Great Kalimba from LingTing, Very Good Tone and Great Playability, Love the G tone it is tuned to. This is a Loud acoustical Box Kalimba, and since it is in the tone of G the Highest tines/notes Sound Very Good, they ring out nicely and have good Sustain time. The Highest Notes sound and play excellent, All notes play very well. This is a Quality Built and Sounding Kalimba at an Excellent Price to quality ratio. Color of wood stain is very good.

This is another great quality LingTing. Addition to the 17 tine hollow style in key of C. LT tines produce a clear beautiful almost chime like sound. Are smooth, flexible, and have a downward tip curvature which makes for comfortable thumb contact. As with most hollow model brands, there is the expected softer shorter resonance produced by the upper tines. The only tine on mine that is more stiff and tinny is the right side highest E6 or E-3 for those that play by using numbers. Tine should improve with more contact. Yellow Sandalwood color is so striking. The wood markings will be a variety of natural patterns. Similar size and body design of the solid but is much lighter. Comes with all the usual LT accessories which are quite generous. If purchasing the model with the built in electric acoustic pickup, there is a 9 foot cord included. The elbow curve of one of the jack ends is best used to securely connect to the kalimba. There are lot's of YT reviews related to playing and sound, as the LT brand is truly one of the best. Makes for an awesome first kalimba, adding to a collection and for a gift. Note that decorative stickers and desk top amplifier are not included.

The media could not be loaded.  Los detalles hacen la diferencia. Dede la caja, funda rígida, cadena y adorno, hace que sea superior a otros Kalimba. Son los principales diferenciadores. Soy principiante con el instrumento, para mí el sonido es claro y alto.

The media could not be loaded.  My other box kalimba has stiff end/high notes which do not sustain well. This one is much, much better - the highest notes are very clear and sustain well. I think it is due to the longer tines and deeper tuning. The tines are about 1cm longer than most of my other kalimbas. I can play other songs as normal even if it is tuned to G. I like it more because it is deeper. It is also much louder compared to all my kalimbas. The long tines do not need much pressure to make good volume.The lower tines do continue to vibrate quite a bit, I find it helps to be really quick with flicking the tines quickly.I would have preferred it to be a different wood colour, but it is still a beautiful instrument.Great to have a louder box style kalimba with excellent high notes. I also highly suggest the K17P and the K21W, I have both and they are unique in their own way.

Lo que no me gustó fue que tardaron más tiempo del que establecieron y no se actualizaron los tiempos en mis pedidos, si no hasta que solicité que rastrearan mi pedido. Según me comentaron no tenían existencia aunque marcaba disponible. Cuando llegó mi kalimba traía una grieta en la parte de atrás, no la devolví puesto que la grieta no llega hasta adentro y no afecta el sonido. A modo general, es un bonito instrumento, la marca me la habían recomendado mucho, y por eso se que el costo es barato.
