I have extremely sensitive, dry skin—anything with fragrance or unnecessary additives causes breakouts, redness, and flaking. It’s been hard finding a lotion that doesn’t irritate my skin, especially for my face. I saw someone on YouTube use Weleda Skin Food as a pre-makeup moisturizer and decided to try it. I’m so glad I did—no breakouts, no reactions, just deep hydration and healing.I use it mainly on my face, but also on dry areas like my hands, elbows, neck, and chest. It takes a bit to absorb, so I apply it once I wake up but it leaves my skin glowing and smooth, which helps my makeup apply beautifully. I started with the original formula and just ordered the Skin Food Light to compare.If you have sensitive skin, I highly recommend trying this—it’s honestly been a game-changer!

Thick and nourishing. It works so well. I put it on before going to bed and my face feels great in the morning. It does not make my face feel greasy.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Wanted to try this bc I've heard so much about it. It's super thick to thick for my face & I'd need a huge bottle if using for my body and that is to expensive for me.

Just don't like the feeling it leaves on my hands or the smell and too late to return, also too expensive to not like. Neutrogena puts out a better product that really leaves your skin feeling soft and protected.

Amazon had a bundle promo recently, and this was one of the eligible products. I have to admit I'd never heard of the Weleda brand before, but I purchased this and some Weleda lip balm as part of the promotion and really like both products!The cream is very thick, and it has a light, fresh scent. The scent fades relatively quickly, so the cream can easily be used by men if they're worried about a smelly/girly hand lotion. Ironically, I offered this to my friend and her husband during a recent trip, and her husband was the first one to comment about how much he liked the scent. The cream absorbs relatively quickly, but if you're the type to keep hand lotion at your desk and you work on a computer all day, I would recommend giving a few minutes for it to fully absorb before typing again. It's initially a little greasy/tacky, but after 5 or so minutes that goes away. Just a word of caution, as I personally can't stand when I put on hand lotion and then grease up my laptop, phone, etc.This is labeled as body cream, but I feel it's more appropriate for hands, or possibly elbows, knees, heels, etc. that get dry/cracked more than other parts of the body. I wouldn't necessarily see myself slathering this all over, mainly because it's very thick and would be a bit harder to apply. I'll definitely be purchasing this again, especially to keep in my bag when I travel on planes and need that extra moisture.
