I have never been more inspired by short stories
Truly amazing. I had never had the opportunity to read Capote before. I know it's a bad thing to admit, but it just happened. I was swept off my feet from the first short story and spend a couple of weeks reading the rest of the stories, taking my time to appreciate Capote's amazing prose. What really amazed me were the short stories that touched the borders of the supernatural; knowing that Capote was predominantly interested in non-fiction, every single one of them was a very pleasant surprise.

like a ghost that summons the self
Capote fiction seems generously sown with throwaway lines that you feel compelled to keep safe. Something uniquely diaphanous but tangibly meaningful, like a ghost that summons the self, and vice versa. The detailed review of this book — and many other works by Truman Capote are posted elsewhere under my name — is too long to post here.Above is one of its observations.

These are great short stopries.
I found that I liked Truman Capote's style and descriptions . He writes with feeling. His stories are well crafted and thoughtful. Well worth the money - I will buy more books by him.

An excellent collect of his stories
An excellent collect of his stories. Each one a lesson in showing his expertise as a storyteller and writer. Really enjoyed them.

Not my cup of tea
Although the stories are well written, they were not really of my choice, but may suit others.

Fabulous
Capote writes beautifully. Whilst some are better than others, each of the stories has merit. One to treasure and come back to time and again.
